    The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is the fastest consumer desktop graphics card in 2018 and the fastest Turing RTX card at launch. It offers 4,352 shaders, 11 GB GDDR6 with a 352 bit interface (14 GHz, 616 GB/s for the Founders Edition). Furthermore, the 2080Ti includes 544 Tensor cores and 68 raytracing cores.
    Core Speed: 1350 - 1545 (Boost) MHz
    Memory Type: GDDR6

    RTX 3080 IS..........A .......... 2080ti with outh the "ti" and less memory for the same price of the 2080 Ti?!

    So!, Basically there is only ONE new card, the 3090 and all are more expensive with only a 200mhz difference over RTX 2080/ti??????? Lame!

    Hmm numbers would like nice, but with these TDPs, i would interested in something like 3060,3050..or even 3040, it they are willing to make them. So far i prefered 1x70 lines, but with 220W no thanks., but im sure that Greta would get at least 3090 for sli :)

    There is so much wrong with what you are posting it is absolutely astonishing.

    But i'll just point out one:

    Same price? Since when?

    3070 = 2080 super, not 2080 ti but OK.
    3080 = titan rtx plus 30% performance
    3090 = titan rtx plus 60% performance

    We're only missing price tag to decide.

    Think you're referring to the leaked timespy extreme (4K) scores @itpro ?

    Graphic scores i read were 8600 timeSpy Extreme for the 3080 and 10000 for the 3090, which are pretty impressive on their own.

    As reference I was around 7700 here with 2080-ti EVGA XC Ultra on an older gen cpu, using a reasonable overclock nothing fancy. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/7612509

    Beside extreme overclocking, i don't see the common GPU overclocker reaching 8600 with a 2080-ti.

    Looking forward to reviews and really wonder if the benchmark at lower resolution than 4K will make any sense.

    Different games and all that. I had no problems with my 1080ti, and obviously none with the Radeon VII but for sure I ran into problems with some games on the 2070 Super.

    Just making calculations here based on specification hardware and possible optimizations.

    As I see it, more precisely things stand as this:

    Difference should not be either higher or lower than those values, think of them like avg min avg max,

    3070 should be ~50-70% slower than 3080
    3080 should be ~25-35% faster than 2080ti
    3090 should be ~50-70% faster than 2080ti

    The fact that games from 3 years ago worked fine with the current amount of RAM doesn't mean that games 3 years in the future will do the same.
    Quite the contrary, it's expected that new games will eat out VRAM alive like the Chromium joke...

    It's simply unacceptable to release the same class of GPU like 4 years ago with the same amount of memory like 4 years ago.

    GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 both have 8 GB ... now 3070 also 8 GB ? and 3080 only 2 more ? It's been four, FOUR, F. O. U. R. years !!!
    Even older and weaker AMD cards (like RX570 have 8 GB, and those launched more than 3 years ago).

    ---
    What I think will happen is that as soon as AMD launches "Big Navi", Nvidia will counteract immediately with "Super" versions of current cards, with doubled-up memory ( 16 for 3070 Super, 20 for 3080 Super ).
    Everyone that buys the non-super 3070/3080 will have bought a very expensive door stopper.

    Yes I can appreciate that vram usage will go up, no argument there. But how much and how soon is the question. Nvidia knows that their 3080 10gb will be sufficient for the foreseeable future. Because It would be a disaster for them if AMDs cards took an edge due to not enough vram on their high end 3080. Whatever we may know or speculate, they are leagues ahead of us in planning ahead for their products.

    Pretty sure if I got a 3080 10gb, would be very comfortable in its longevity (well, 2-3 years at least). Games do not have to use massive amounts of vram to look great. We have ton of very demanding games that hardly use any vram even at 4k (Metro Ex, RDR2 and others). Yes RT can be the big unknown, but Nvidia has big sway over game devs and work closely with them to ensure their new or current HW is not crippled due to poor optimization or unnecessary use of vram.

    I think the only evidence we have of running out of vram to actually impact a game have been the 4gb vs 8gb cards. Nothing yet on 8gb. Fortunately we dont have to wait for long till we see Ampere 8-16gb 3070 and 10-20gb 3080 to test this theory.

    16 and 20GB cards are almost certainly overkill and that extreme VRAM probably won't be required for the lifespan of the card, however if someone is looking to buy a 10GB 3080 with the intention of it being an investment for the next 3-4 years thing will get uncomfy if playing at 4K (on the VRAM side) before the card otherwise outlives its usefulness.

    Absolutely not, you misinterpreted my post. It is old, but still powerful and runs things very well. But I have multiple games that use more than the 6GB of vram that is has at 1080. If you want to go higher res you will see even more vram used. These new cards are 3 generations newer and should last a while. Yet we already have games that at 1080p use close to 8GB of vram. So how is having a card that is supposed to be new and run at high res, yet will have it's limited vram completely filled at 1080p logical? The 3070 should have at least 10 and the 3080 should have at least 12. The low end 3060's could be relegated to a measly 8GB.

    3090 RTX is not the TITAN. It is only a new tier above the rest. It is the enthusiast pro category or enthusiast premium, above mere enthusiasts. If it was not a gaming gpu there wouldn't be custom ones from aib manufacturers. It could be only founders/stock. Nvidia just want to dominate and earn.

    xD I'll just be glad not to have to deal customers calling me up to fix their computers because they turn off as soon as windows loads

  19. Been wondering what a titan would look like too for RTX 2nd gen... esp RAM count / quadro practically
    Yeah in all honesty I have been curious how the cards are getting around that... I'm hoping they tested them unlike the 1st gen Apple smart watch hehhe

    Yeah back in 2014 when I was building my 4790k rig I had a choice between the r9 290 vs 770 4GB model and I ended up choosing the r9 290 because of how powerful of a card it would be vs the 770 and it wouldn't run out of horsepower before the card could use all 4GB.
