The real war gone be the price of the 3070/80....3090 users gone be 3% of the buyers of nvidia cards.
If the 3070 is more than 550e retail, gone buy an used 20xx series.

Titan cards were NOT gaming cards initially.

Later they were a joke about people with more money than sense that would give 1k to Nvidia for bragging rights.

After that it was normalized and now the rest of us get the results.

I don't understand CONSUMERS defending Nvidia on this.

That's why desktop is going to hell.

What I would like to know is what the chances that top end RTX3xxx GPUS move up to HDMI 2.1 and PCIe 4.0

Some people don't have a problem with Ludacris pricing because it makes items more.....exclusive.... Whether such is reasonable or not.

RTX3K series is rumored to be PCIe 4.....

It doesn't even matter if it's top or bottom. Irrelevant. The whole generation either supports it or not. It is so early to know at the moment. All specs are due to change until mass production.

So they put out the $2000.00 rumor to shake things up, then drop it to $1,300.00 thinking that people would think it's a steal.
Marketing degrees aren't what they used to be.

Nothing is official until they announce the product, everything so far has been speculation.

I'll watch this closely. I ditched my 2080 and got a 1070 and saved some money, maybe the 3070/ti will be interesting, if not, I'll wait more... Maybe 3070 super or even 4070 later???

As far as PCIe 4.0 maybe, but HDMI 2.1 can be something left for only the premium cards, its expensive to implement [even most 4K tV's lack it or come with single input and the rest is 2.0] and cheaper cards dont really need 4K/120/10Bit 4:4:4 modes

Only an idiot would say "give me 12gb of vram instead of 24 on a $1500 card", while consoles around the corner will have 16gb.
Guru3d is the only news site that posted fake news of 3090 to have 12gb of vram and then acted butt-hurt when found out it will have more.
This forum is anti-consumer, fake news and an echo chamber.

16gb 3070 sounds about right for me, wouldn't be comfortable with 8gb version, i was hoping for a 3070TI, maybe those will be later?

Only an idiot would confuse 'fake news' with rumors. All the threads dealing with Ampere specs, prices are clearly labelled 'rumors'.
