    Actually the RTX 3090 (24 GB GDDR6X) seems to be the Titan replacement, and therefore a lot cheaper than previous generation
    (RTX Titan 24GB GDDR6 = $2499 @ release).
    So $1999 sounds not that bad, if you have this in mind.;) Of course it's absolutely not worth that much, as none of the prev. Titans were...
    (Even considering the raw performance uplift of ca.14-15%)

    Further predictions:
    RTX 3080Ti - $999 (+ 30-32% comp. 2080Ti perf.)
    RTX 3080 - $799 (+20-24 % comp. 2080Ti perf. = ca. RTX Titan perf.) +100% RT cores (136 / 68)

    Reminder:
    (RTX 2080Ti @ release: $999)
    (RTX 2080 @ release: $699)

    If it's cheaper, it doesn't even have to be faster. NVIDIA deserves boycott, if rumor prices are real!

    Well that was supposed to be the MSRP on the 2080ti but it didn't really end up like that. $800 for the 3080 is unappealing, particularly with 10GB.

    And Intel should have their Desktop (Gamer) Xe card ready in 2021 on TSMC 6nm (All professional/DC cards will be on Intel 10nm)
    with 1 full fledged chip (512EU / 4096cores) reaching ca.10TFLOPS (RTX 2080 / RX5700XT territory). So expect only a race in
    the mid range segment... (like Navi did last year)

    Of course every reseller ignores Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), if demand is extremely high (because of mining craze).

    If it was 3x faster than RTX2080ti, then, I wouldn't have a problem with that price tbh. I'd at a push even try to get one lol.

    :) ca. +40% more perf. seems realistic.

    Yes but the low range of today are yesterdays monster cards.
    The 3060 will be no slouch.

    Any update on if this thing is going to require new PSUs? Seems like near £1500 and the price of a new decent PSU to actually use this new GPU in the middle of what could be the worse global financial crisis is going to put this thing out of the reach of quite a few people.

    Yesterday's monster cards are many many years old which in the past would have been several times the amount of generations passing as they do now. And those cards were only "monsters" if you're forever stuck in the past playing at 1080p 60Hz. A 1080 Ti (which is anywhere from 2070 to 2080 Super performance depending on the game) shows how fracking pathetic the 2000 series was, and that card was brought to its knees if you wanted to play at high refresh rates at 1440p, even on release.

    We have very different definitions of what a "monster card" is. The upcoming consoles make a serious case for just giving up on playing new releases on PC. Who the frack is going to pay insane prices for a single card when an entire system giving an acceptable experience at a fraction the cost exists?

    This upcoming gen isn't the PS3 with its ass sub-720 (scaled to 720p and sold as that) res, 30 fps max often dropping below 20, 256MB VRAM resulting in 1990s looking textures, etc, etc. I gave up playing even exclusives on consoles back then because they were so crap. To me the experience was so bad I'd rather wait a decade for a PC release or emulation on PC...

    But the XBSX and even the weak PS5? Those look like perfectly acceptable gaming experiences to me.

    Blame people who still buy Ngreedia blindly, companies just want to make a buck to pay dividends.
    AMD has so much money waiting for them if they can at least pull a competitive card.
    Doesn't have to win, just needs to be 10% close costing 15% less and it wins.

    This is getting ridiculous! If true, they are basically doubling their price each generation. AMD really needs to step it up. Sometimes I wonder if Nvidia and AMD CEOs being related has anything to do with AMD always being a step behind in the GPU arena? Their CPUs seem to be making insane leaps, but GPUs are constantly lagging. Why? Genuinely curious

    Why would you think that?

    The shader core count between 2080Ti and RTX Titan is just 4352 vs 4608. And now suddenly there's supposed to be a huge gap between 3080 (4352 cores) and 3090...or Titan replacement with 5248 cores? After all, there is a rumor that the three cards released in September would be 3080, 3090 and Titan. If there is a real Titan incoming with 5376 cores then why should there be two Titans?

    + R&D Costs need to be recuperated. But yeah $ 2000 is mental.

    AMD will 100% arrange their pricing with nVidia. It's no coincidence that even when they had products that sold they just went with the nGreedia pricing curve that's been going up exponentially, when they could have realistically drove prices down and gotten more sales.

    I'd be shocked if AMD actually took an opportunity to push prices lower than what nGreedia wants. Due to how compelling the upcoming consoles are, the global recession mostly due to the China virus, etc, I expect the sales of upcoming GPUs to be abysmal if they continue being so comically greedy.

    I said it before and I'll say it again: I hope Jen-Hsun "Jensen the Leather Jacketed Scrooge" Huang steps on a lego.

    Yes absolutely also i did not count that the defective dies can be salvaged as 2080 and 2080s . Earlier it was stated that is just copper and sand and it does not cost more than 10 bucks to be made... This post was me explaining that manufacturing alone is way way more than 10 usd ! The dimensions i used are real ... Defection rate and pricing are out of my mind maybe i was too generous with just 0.1 and i know a wafer 14nm used to go for 5k few years back i think the 7nm is at 7k ... But i was not sure. Anyway was mostly a loose approximation example.

    According to Chiphell forum user, prices will likely be as follows:

    3090 = $1399
    3080 = 799
    3070 = 499

    3080 will come in 10gb/20gb versions
    3070 in 8/16gb versions

    The higher vram versions may be offered by AIBs at obviously higher cost.

    I wonder if 3080 or 3090 will be even worse value than the Note 20.
