already noticed, i mixed up the prism and spire and almost nobody has done comparisons of the 2 non rgb coolers to my knowledge.

Cheers but it's definitely not just me https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/ryzen-5-3600-at-stock-1-4v-core.18863279/

Good info Mufflore. But see, that doesn't make sense to me since this is 7nm. I would get temps in the 80's (which is way beyond my comfort zone) on my Zen+ cpu but never that kind of voltage. Hell I'm only running 1.25v right now with all cores at a solid 4ghz.

it's just how Ryzen rolls. Which is why you should stop watching voltages and just worry about your temps.

Yeah I'm just fooking lost rn gonna just do my best and see how it goes.

It's set to 1.28v in Ryzen Master. Temps are not dangerous around 48 rn, so, I'll just leave it like that for now and keep looking into it.

OK I'll try but setting my vcore manually to 1.28v in Ryzen Master IS helping my temps, ofc. Perhaps this is the way to go until I get a better cooler?

OH does anyone know a good OVERLAY so I can monitor CPU temps while I game later?? I read my old friend Afterburner doesn't play well with Ryzen *sigh*

Totally understand. Hell I was looking to buy a spire but was pleasantly surprised when I received a prism cooler at the same cost.

The irony is, amd could just dump the stealth and ship the spire for everything below the x600 and it wouldn't hurt them a dollar.

Yeah Afterburner is great. It can can be kind of a pain to get your settings right as to what you wanna display, but it is really good software.

I just learned that with ryzen the voltages of what its asking for (vid) my 3700x asks for anywhere up to 1.5v BUT its not actually using that

if you have nothing but cpu-z running you will see the true voltages

HWinfo polls the cpu every 20ms basically telling it to boost all the time

look at my screen shot it shows what hardware info says and what cpu-z says

HWinfo has long been patched to work around that.

Well. My vcore is still above what I set according to cpu z :(

I'd like to say this hasn't gotten off to a slightly odd, and frustrating experience. I accept I have been with Intel for 10, um, probably 15 years so, I have a lot to learn yet.
