Is multiplayer going to change at all? I’m really looking forward to playing multiplayer....if there’s a community.
No. 3DR and Slipgate Ironworks are a global studio. With people working digitally from their home. Only a handful of people, maybe 8 or so, work from the office in Denmark. Kingpin is moving along nicely, and we have a reveal planned. It's just taken a bit longer then originally planned, as this is being done without the original source code. As that code was lost.
Yeah, the Q2 date on Steam was a place holder. And it's easier to simply leave it as is until we have a more defined release window.

Is it still on track anyhow? It seemed to have a lot of "Steam" post announcement then it kinda died off. For once i was happy to see it happen but then it just went totally radio silent.
Yes. It is still being worked on, the team are doing very well. Since the original Source Code for Kingpin is lost, it's taking longer then anticipated, but they are making good progress. We hope to have some news in the near future.
1,5 year later and still no release not even any communication in that period of time. Come on, do better!
Well, there's always the original. Release date on steam page still says 2021 so i assume it fell of the table hard if no one even bothered to rectify that.
Hm yeah, not good comunication, if they dont even have time? effort? to update the steam page...come on, how hard or how long does it take? Sometimes i dont understand those people...
It's kinda sad that this project seems to have stalled somewhere. Kingpin is a great game on paper and in much of the presentation, but it needs rebalancing.
It hasn't stalled. There's progress every day. We are going to have an update out soon. Will openly admit it got announced too early, and with the lack of the source code... it's been a lot more work then original expected. But... progress is happening nicely. This is a joint project, between the IP owner and 3DR/Slipgate. So, any and everything has to be approved by everyone before it can be shared/shown. And the Steam page, been pushing to get it updated, but... we don't control the Steam page.
So..any news...at all? Been a while, dont it? I know you dont control the Steam page (who is it then!?), but man...its deserted and whatnot. I would be ashamed... The latter is what people think, and its appropriate.
I read the comments, I know what people are saying. But, I'm not allowed to comment right now. All I can say is that the team are working, daily, and very hard on the project. Everything I've seen looks great. And I can not wait until I can share some news on the project. We do care, a lot. But, unfortunately, things are never as simple as "I want to say this, so I'm going to say this". There's an approval process everything has to go through. And specially in projects like this that involve multiple companies.
