So my HAF-X has had several fans die (incl. the big front one which I can't get any more)/dying and sound like hair dryers, time for a new PC case (and RAM upgrade). From that list: https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/cases/mid-tower-pc-cases-with-window Or https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/cases/full-tower-cases What would the Gurus recommend that's not too expensive, quiet, solid, good airflow, preferably with a window, at least 8 slots, and space for at least 5 full-size HDDs? Ta BLEH!
Got one of these a few months ago, Very quiet. - Two modular drive cages house three 3.5¡¨ or 2.5¡¨ drives each. - Four tool-free dedicated SSD cages, sideways mounted https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...tower-case-black-cc-9011035-ww-ca-157-cs.html
Alright, makes sense. My recommendation will be this one - https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categ...w-Edition-Full-Tower-ATX-Case/p/CC-9011078-WW Using it on several builds, never disappointed. It's sturdy, minimalistic and with a great airflow.
2nd link, DarkBase 900 from BeQuiet. I own the non pro version, without glass. The pro comes with glass on I think one side, but I am not 100% sure. It's got a Qi charging area where you can put a mobile or any NFC-charging capable device. Space wise it is BIG! Like a smaller big tower from the 80s or 90s but wider than a standard case. All your components will fit. Look here for a good comparison between all models of the DarkBase 900: https://skinflint.co.uk/?cmp=1837733&cmp=1453707&cmp=1453779 Hopefully this helps a bit.
Went with the 750D. Very happy with it. Quiet, somehow cooler than the HAF-X, unobtrusive, elegent design, easy to build with.
