The upshot is that I doubt either side could find someone who could do worse.

To the topic at hand, China’s homegrown processor designs are still significantly behind leading x86, ARM, IBM/Power, etc designs from foreign competition. That previous AMD licensing agreement was limited to the zen 1 architecture and AFAIK had not advanced beyond that before it was ended.

I say cut off ease of access as much as possible and deal with the financial hits. After all, CCP is using every technology asset on-hand to suppress and subjugate dissidents, Hong kongers, and Uighurs - the latter into literal concentration camps. Any roadblock to technology access for the CCP equates to a win for humanity at large.

The US has already thought of those possible loopholes, unfortunately and has warned against any US company using any such deceitful practices. So, if any greedy US company tries it, they will be met with serious consequences, fined and the possibility that their licenses being revoked or face sanctions or all the above. Is it really worth all that? Remember, money always rotates. Asks Kodak, Research In Motion, US Motorola, etc. Sure, for the short-term, it will be a blow to all Huawei's old US partners but it's the long-term that really matters, right?

That is one thing that the Dems and GOPs agree on, though. China is a threat to national security. Electing Biden will not changed that direction as the head of the Dem party Senator Schumer and Dem leader Speaker Pelosi both agree that China needs to be stop on spying, IP theft, cyberattacks, etc.

And we stll had X86 (i don't remember the name of the homemade CPU) in it's time and even Intel CPU at one point...
USA think since the WW2 that the world is focus on them while in fact no one care and are just bothered by their behaviour.

Well, maybe it is about business. If they can't buy server CPUs, they can't sell back services provided by those CPUs.

You have no idea whats going on in USA and why he has to be re-elected with super majority if possible. (aka GOP controlling both the houses).

Take the red pill to see wtf is going on the last 4 years, otherwise continue taking the blue pill but your opinion is not valid.

And do not forget. Is the only POTUS the last 20 years who hasn't started a new war, instead withdrew from all the country was engaged this century. That make him No1 enemy of the establishment who profit from the war-economy.

The partisan war outcome between Pelosi and Trump (and its implications) is important for the world - people don't need more viruses or other fatalities to reestablish the old guard in the USA!

He has tried to start a war with Iran but they didn't bite. He is also funneling plenty of weapons to Saudi Arabia to try and butcher Yemen, and is generally destabilising the Middle East at a rate comparable to George Bush.
His stimulus package which seems to be extremely favorable to corporations at such an extreme level that this will likely devalue the dollar permanently and decrease its international value as a secondary currently, whilst simultaneously allowing those that need support march into the streets to get more sick and die due to a healthcare system they cannot afford.
Let's not forget Trump supported the rise of white supremacy and has not denounced any neo-*****'s seen marching previously and continues to speak highly of them.
Extremely bad businessman, thousands of court cases against him, false documents published regards to financials and taxes to obtain crooked loans, bankrupted multiple casinos (like, how?)
Good friends with Jeffrey Epstein for many years...
Most likely under the control of Russia

Something true to both sides - struggling to make coherent sentences and logical arguments, accusations of sexual abuse on both sides. Seriously USA, can you not pick a president that has a functioning brain?

I mean, if you want 4 more years, good luck to you but if "cnn and other crap news" is how you see the full picture, you have to consider that maybe you are rather biased yourself.

You are not in a Parallel Universe, or invisible.
The entire planet knows what is happening in the USA: Right-wing extremism, racism, xenophobia, extreme state corruption, religious fundamentalism and scientific negationism.

    ^^^ This.

The only time such restrictions were laxed was during administrations that had for example the VP's son get $2 billion in kickbacks for favorable treatment and sweetheart deals.

So the united states finally gets a president who stops these insane one sided deals with other nations in order to get proper fair trading deals... and he's a retard? The retards are the assholes who for decades shipped manufacturing jobs overseas, allowed forced technology transfers to chinese companies who then subsidzed the products and put our company out of business, and allowed sale of dual-use technology like when Bill Clinton pretty much gave China its modern ICBM tech. Oh yea, and i shouldn't forget that they got some hefty campaign contributions in return.

If you think we're going to put Biden in the white house when the guy can't even answer a question coherently and has the answers to questions asked by the press displayed on a teleprompter. Biden/Obama presidency was the most corrupt in our nations history. Never again.

Look i agree Trump took a stronger stance on China and I think that should be US policy, but Trump doubled the US deficit and China's GDP growth fell under Obama.

How does it go from ~$80K a month to $2B? It's fascinating to me how these numbers just magically inflate.

Also why the hell would you want manufacturing here? It's becoming almost entirely automated - it's a dead end industry and everyone should be glad it's vanishing.

Seeing as there are only two major players in the CPU market; Intel and AMD, both of which are US based companies, where the heck is Inspur going to get their processors?
