I thought Nvidia had dropped the 'Ti' non clementure in favour of 'Super'. Seems odd they would go back to it.

Also aren't the 'Tis' and 'Supers' meant to be revision models that they release a few months down the line once they work out various binning and quality issues and find just how far they can push the new chips. Seems odd that the Ti / Super images would be doing the rounds before the base models have even been spotted.

No, this is a three-fan GPU cooling assembly.

I thought Ti's were the base high end model - the "Titan" bins. Supers are the mid life refresh.

If you look closely to the picture, you'll also notice the cooling-blocks behind the fans, which resembles pretty much to the ones that will be produced for the new gpu series by nvidia which was announced a few weeks ago.

crappy photoshop made me laugh so thx
wouldn't buy that design anymore unless nvidia prototype doesnt deliver, most of the heat on those cards come out the backplate, if nvidia fan design manages to exhaust it properly it would be very good news

It might not be a photoshop for "photoshop's sake", but more like a render at a presentation of their next-gen GPU cooler. The fact that they added a "3080Ti" there was clearly intended to stir the pot and get attention. I'm sure they'll use the same cooler (maybe thinner pipes on the more mid-range cards) for most of the RTX 3000 Strix GPUs line and likely (with some adaptations of course) for the new AMD cards as well.

I don't think there will be a Ti (at least initially). The x080 Ti will be x090 instead, so they can slap on a "Super" "Ti" "Ultra" or whatever they decide on the refresh of the top end in a year or two.

In the mid-range that is certainly true, but at the top end that varied. Some generations, we got the Ti right away, like with the 2080 Ti, some years the Ti came later. And the top-end Ti also was never positioned like a "refresh", but more its own thing. Super was more of a refresh.

How about couple years ago when ti were part of the regular lineup and released with everything else?

Last time i checked its up to Nv, and nothing prevents them from doing it differently with any future release.

We live in a time of confusion and therefore I'm sure nVidia will go for XX90, Ti and Super just to be super clear...or something.

No TI and super are completely different super is just virtually a overclocked version of the card

There was a 2080 and 2080ti at launch also all indications point to a ti this launch as well.

I think it’s legit they’re close to launching why wouldn’t they be designing and testing coolers.

nope , actually Nvidia had not dropped the Ti , as 2080 Ti is the high end chip and it s better than 2080s.
but perhaps it will change with Ampere and we ll have a 3090 instead of 3080 Ti etc etc..
