Is it me, or this is running on the Horizon ZD engine? Decima? Somehow the world feels like it, with a mix of Sekiro. Loved both games so I'm in, when it is available for PS5.
Probably the physics in motion that gives you that impression. The wind blowing a gale, looks a bit strange. But I'd guess that's down to the PS4 being underpowered.
Just saw the Youtube video and the games looks promising. We now have the confirmation that the amazing fights seen in the first trailers are not what they look like but still it doesn´t seem to be a big deal. Also playing as the ghost seems to be very cool. The downsides were the enemies AI, they just stood still while being butchered and the open world part, that always leaves me a little weary... Also i whish gamer makers stopped using stupid slow motion effects, button prompts and canned animations in games because they destroy the rhythm of the games... Anyway, i´m gonna keep an eye on this game.
just saw the state of play. damn this gonna be cool. graphics are awesome. im sure this will be very immersive for me, the was particles, leaves , wind and other stuff showed on screen. OMFG, YES!
Interesting new information, is someone is interested https://www.gameinformer.com/preview/2020/05/19/the-life-of-the-samurai
I'm hearing the combat sucks, and that the game is 'probably' not going to be what people want it to be: An Open World Samurai game. If true, this has completely shattered my desire to play the game, if combat is poorly implemented, and I (as the player) do not have the sort of control I have been afforded by other open world games. Not what I want from a game like this, not at all. To back story my playing times recently on the PS4Pr0: I have found the following: -HZD is amazing -GoW is not anywhere near as good as most said it would be (just annoying and limited movement - waaaaaaaay toooo linear, kinda given up playing) -RDR2 was just Grand Theft Equine, and not very interesting at all. -Assasins Creed Origins asked me to agree to terms and conditions I did not like (before playing the game), so I uninstalled it. -The Last Guardian I stopped playing after the first room was inescapable, so have not returned to it - not kidding, it kept asking me to do something that the character could not do so I just stopped playing the game - because if the FIRST ROOM is trappable, then the rest of the game will no doubt have more frustrating problems to solve, that I do not want to spend time ripping my hair off trying to solve! I just want to roam about with my awesome dragon/beast and have fun, not be puled back down to the planet earth trying to solve a problem...screw that for wasting my time. -Dangerous driving is great fun, and a 'true sucessor' to Burnout: Point Of Impact. Seriously fast loader, too. -Uncharted 4 - not played it yet, but did install it. GoW and TLG were the biggest dissappointments, purely because of the hype and not living up to it. HZD was a total surprise as to how good the mechanics and combat were in that game, which brings me back to this game: If the combat is poor/overly complicated, and attacking towns/villages/settlements is a back-breaking mental gymkhana (which early indications say it will be) AND it does not have OPEN WORLD DESIGN then... NO.
the combat look to very much like sekiro which didnt like, which would be sad thing cause I wont buy the game at full price or even half price if anything like sekiro, it look amazing but gameplay is what matters and sekiro gameplay combat i didnt like. Maybe they will demo at some point and I see for my self
https://www.gamespot.com/videos/ghost-of-tsushima-gameplay-samuari-fights-stealth/2300-6452876/ this has me lil more interested the combat seem to be more involved and interesting then sekiro stances like Nioh and combat like sekiro. not that like sekiro combat but the stances atlest make more intresting and fun
about difficulty : " Is there a difficulty slider for those of us that want more challenging experiences? If so, are enemies more aggressive at higher difficulty levels or do they simply have larger health bars? Nate: The game does feature three levels of difficulty — Easy, Normal, and Hard. On HARD, the game is fair, but very challenging. Mongols are more aggressive, and players must be precise to pull off extraordinary moves. By comparison, EASY is for players who want to explore the island, enjoy the story and still be occasionally tested by a worthy opponent. No matter which difficulty players choose we never increase the health of enemies; this is to maintain the lethality of the katana. Our combat is all about the player’s skill. https://blog.playstation.com/2020/05/29/ghost-of-tsushima-your-questions-answered/
pre-ordered! very very hyped for this game! So far enjoying the last of us 2 and even Horizon zero dawn which I never played before and loving that too. 3 games which I will be playing to say goodbye to the generation of PS4. Really going to take my time with Ghost of Tushima though.
Black and white mode reminds me of the those OLD zatoichi movies still not sold on the combat I really need to get my hands a demo of it, not falling for the hype like I did with sekiro
god damnit want to watch those old zatoichi movies which are next to impossilbe to find cable/sat or streaming for that mater I thinks been more then 2 decaded since I actual seen one those movies on TV anywhere
I think last time I saw one the black and white (Shintaro Katsu) one was on TMC which again was over 2 decades ago but when they did play they they quite a few of the old zatoichi movies. but I did find out there was new zatoichi move back in 2010 did not know "ichi" was spin zatoichi Which I saw, defiently didnt know "blind fury" was american remake of zatoichi movie, talk about bad Americanized movies
Hopefully this game is not designed to subvert expectations and will instead be good from start to finish.
