@Krteq HPET is disabled in OS and the option no longer exists in my BIOS. Here is my full latencymon report (my cpu clock is 4100mhz not 410 :p).

Another thing that sticks out as being quite bad is the kernel timer latency which sits at about 12000 at all times. Again, these numbers all go back to normal when I roll back from 20.5.1. I will post a log of my 20.3.1 latencies in a bit.

    CPU SPEED
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    Reported CPU speed: 410 MHz
Note: reported execution times may be calculated based on a fixed reported CPU speed. Disable variable speed settings like Intel Speed Step and AMD Cool N Quiet in the BIOS setup for more accurate results.
WARNING: the CPU speed that was measured is only a fraction of the CPU speed reported. Your CPUs may be throttled back due to variable speed settings and thermal issues. It is suggested that you run a utility which reports your actual CPU frequency and temperature.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.
Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 133.60
Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 5.291889
Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 126.40
Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 2.887961
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    REPORTED ISRs
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.
NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.
Process with highest pagefault count: winstore.app.exe
Total number of hard pagefaults 4276
Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 1764
    Number of processes hit: 32

Interesting to note: when I rolled back using Factory Reset, my latency was still poor. Only when I used AMD cleanup utility in safe mode did they return to their original levels.

Interrupt to Process latency fires on software interrupts rather than hardware, these in turn delay DPCs

OK, and why do you have it disabled? Any specific reason?

Have you tried to enable it and reboot and check if it behaves the same?

I'm on a fresh windows install and I never disabled it but it does not show up when I check bcdedit /enum. If I force enable it in the OS my latency skyrockets and performance is terrible.

Interesting... seems more and more like some IRQ conflict in your system

Well there's a phrase I haven't heard in a while. Whatever is going on is only occurring with these drivers and I haven't changed my configuration in a while. My pc is running fine otherwise and I keep tabs on these things.

These drivers include logging now. In services you should see AMD Log Utility found in Services.

It may also show up in task manager. If it's there you can disable it.

I have had some really silly issues on some laptops months/years ago.... sometimes it is not directly what Latencymon is telling you it is....
I remember the latency skyrocketed on some broken realtek and even synaptics drivers back then, not sure it's the case now.... Might wanna check that all the drivers, even the silliest ones are up to date (oh an also update the "microsoft" ones if you find newer ones directly from the hw vendor).

Latency thingy. Dunno what it means tbh but the green bars are lower using Radeon 7 than 2070 Super. Forza 7 doesn't have mushy controls on AMD, not sure if it's related to that.

AMD's drivers are not multicore optimized, nvidia's driver will always run a tad higher during utilisation for this fact alone (on systems with C states active)

Hmm, as far as I know only Command Lists are not supported by driver. Other DX11 multithreading capabilities are supported

I think AMD has at most dual core for the drivers with a lot of it still single threaded but that's a bit older info although I haven't heard any significant changes either but the drivers do somehow manage to keep up a bit with NVIDIA although I suppose other than a few newer games a lot of software doesn't delve too heavily into D3D11 based multi-threaded rendering whereas it's a thing (And a improved model.) for D3D12 and Vulkan which AMD does have which I assume would also explain how their own cards appear to have a lot better scaling here although then Vulkan also gets compared to OpenGL which while compliant isn't the most performant. :D

EDIT: Well for the Windows OGL drivers at least, different situation over on the Linux side.

Suppose on the software side of things you would also have to really build for utilizing GCN or RDNA and then also NVIDIA and it's not just DirectX(11) or the display drivers doing a lot of this work so I can see that hindering full performance a bit too at least for studios less experienced with leveraging these API's so that might be a thing for a few more years besides some of the bigger teams and those working closely with AMD, NVIDIA or both on low-level API implementation.

EDIT: Then again that also goes for multi-threading on the CPU side where quad core was a target for years but it's shifting to hexa or above and no doubt becoming even more difficult to balance and set up and scale as this develops.

Plus any differences for AMD and Intel for now but the Windows scheduler should also help in newer Windows10 builds...

...When the developers don't go manually putting threads to critical or whatever which yeah there's work to be done to improve things here too unsurprisingly. :p

Yeah...i that's got absolutely nothing to do with their kernel driver's usage of multicore cpu's.

Updated to June 10th, probably just the WHQL signature. :)

EDIT: Seems to be that and a component update.

This is up to version 2.89.0.57 in this new release.

    This is up to 2.0.0.37

For some reason the AMD User Experience software has a different GUID but the version is identical.

The update they did, still has the same issue: "Radeon RX Vega Series and Radeon VII graphics products may experience performance drops when Performance Metrics Overlay is open while a game is running."

I'm using a RX 570 and enabling PMO slows down games. Performance still sucks compared to the 2019 drivers as well. I probably won't update to any new Adrenaline driver until they bring out hardware scheduling. Going to stay using last year drivers for now.

Hi I got an amd radeon rx 480 8gb gpu intel i5 2500k. Just downloaded these new drivers and got a strange problem running a game and putting the metric overlay on kills my fps as in stuttering etc... when I turn it off fps goes to normal and stuttering stops it only does it in 3d games not on desktop or watching videos, anyone experienced same problem?

    thanks.
