Installed fine here. I did it as a manual upgrade found here DOWNLOAD

Working fine so far, although it installed DCH Nvidia driver for some reason when I always use the Standard ones. Not a big problem by any means. Total download, and install took around 10 minutes and 2 restarts.

on the diskcleanup window, the "clean up system files" button reopens it with additional features that can't be cleared by a standard user.

Added in this view is error logs, dump files, upgrade logs, it also runs dism resetbase to remove supersceded updates, and when upgrade backup and bt folder are present, options to remove these too.

diskcleanup has a default of files older than 30 days, so some items won't appear until after 30 days.

You should never delete the backup folder because there are WinSxS references that can break your windows install by deleting the originals.

I did use clean up system files, and I didn't delete a backup folder, or old windows folder or anything like that. Just the leftover files from the upgrade program.

They done it on purpose, so machine that are affected dont end up with wireless not working etc.
funny how some ppl "complain" (not at you, rich) about not getting the latest build, yet would do as well if the machine gets bricked (cause MS would allow installing it).

Yeah ive read that it can also just not even show up, if something on your machine isn't compatible.

I reckon its my Avira, so i'll wait until that gets a product update, to see if it either does show for download and install, or shows as a device not ready, but theres no hurry.

Could even uninstall it, to see if it'll show up, or just down the ISO and do a fresh, as wont take me long to get my stuff back on.

I was hoping the update broken something to give me an excuse to play about with the OS. I'm currently using a laptop too.

***The update has a couple of interesting start up entries. Two binary cache entries. Security health, no idea what that one is, and One drive reappears again if you uninstalled it.

According to Windows Update my PC isn't ready for it yet. So on that basis, and combined with the known bug list, I'll sit this one out.
I will however install it on my crappy old Surface to see what it's like. However, knowing M$, the drivers for the hardware won't come out until the next feature update is ready next year...

Microsoft never used to do that. Perhaps to check that nothing major will break.

    what "hardware"?
all 1909 drivers work fine with 2004, and ive seen some x570 boards having gotten driver updates in the past few weeks.
part of the reason ill probably go with msi to replace the GB, as they cared to do more than the first batch used for initial (MB) release.

Well....upgraded on day 1.... Multiple crashes and errors since. Trying to track down the exact cause. I was greeted tonight by that nice little "We're getting things ready for you" screen....

    You have to choose
    "Delivery Optimization Files"
    and
    "Previous Windows Installation(s)"
if you want windows.old and the update folder's contents deleted......
I know for a fact that these 2 options delete the aforementioned folders or folder contents... If it doesn't work for you, then either you're on a restricted user account or you need to reinstall Windows because something is corrupt. It does not require escalated privileges to work...

Of course, you could also just delete the windows.old folder yourself.....and the contents of the update folder....
