i wanted to buy one of these motherboards until i realized they are not compatible with ryzen 2000, my idea was to upgrade mobo and wait the next generation of amd cpu, guess i'll have to buy a X570 mobo then
Huh weird... I thought the 500 series was fully backward compatible. Apparently not, including X570 (but you're right that X570 is compatible with the 2000 series). Out of curiosity, why do you want a B550? If it's for compatibility for Zen3, your B450 board should be compatible. Otherwise, I don't think you're really getting much of an upgrade.
Yes the B550 seem to be less compatible than X570, the Ryzen 2*00 are listed as "incompatible"... We will see in few hour, at the official announcement...
That's right the b450 boards won't have Zen3 support right away. Also it's up to the motherboard manufacturer if they want their boards to have Zen3 support or not.
