I confess to not visiting this thread since 2018, or so. (Shame on me.) Clearly, it has evolved. It's been awhile since I've been to New York City, but I'm pretty sure that is the Manhattan Bridge in the background. Accordingly, I can only assume this young woman was run down by that approaching BMW. Which then left the scene. Probably bagged the photographer, as well.
Well, when it comes to finding oneself in the street pretty much anywhere in the "Five Boroughs" of New York City, the idea is to present motorists with some sort of a challenge. If you're simply a stationary and irresistible target-of-opportunity, you're doing it wrong. Upon seeing this, that BMW driver must have thought, "Wow! This is like Christmas morning!" That is, if they were even paying any attention at all... (One day, I saw three pedestrians get hit in two separate incidents just a few blocks apart on Canal Street. The flight deck of an aircraft carrier is probably less frantic.) Nice photo, in any case.
