Intel today launches the new 10th Core series of desktop processors. Guru3D has two reviews ready for you today, the six-core Core i5 10600K as well as the flagship Core i9 10900K with its ten cores. Alongside the processor reviews we of course, have a nice selection of Z490 motherboard reviews ready to be released in the next few days.

For now, you can read the articles here.

For gaming... i5-10600KF maybe not a bad pick.
Might prefer it over 3600x for the similar price and push OC beyond 5K.

Still, basically similar numbers. Just pick your red or blue poison.

    Intel 10600KF - $237
    Ryzen 3600x - $249
    Intel 10600K - $262

Over 10000K, eh? Still need to tell myself those are CPU's, and not monitors that are so bright they project an X-ray of you on the wall behind you...

if only it would have been the sunny cove cores...

    also... I hit 3800cb points with the 3600 @ 4.2ghz locked so... cool for 175$ and a 60$ board

So technically you just can't cool it by aircooling of you want to stay on the safe side.
Ok none of us will use Aida 24/7 but come on, this has gone too far.

Prime95 with small FFT test may heat it up even higher than AIDA.

Sorry but, I cant agree with the Guru3D recomendation of this product.
Ryzen 3900x has two more cores, 15% more multitasking performance and cost 20% less.
    No more!

Hilbert, Z490 boards don't start at $250 lol. There's a bunch of great boards for around $200 and you can also buy cheaper boards. $200 is the sweetspot, these are solid boards with powerful VRMs 6 layer PCBs and all the features you'll need.

well, its still the best gaming CPU and it is an okay CPU for multi thread application. So choose your poison, gaming or multi thread processing.

Just had to check local prices, sure you got them Intel prices correct?
Also, if not overclocking the 3600 is still one of the best bang for the buck gaming CPU''s

    10600KF - $308
    10600K - $352
    3600 - $201
    3600X - $245
    3700X - $352

Can probably find all of these a bit cheaper when comparing several stores in Denmark, price difference won't be that much different thou.

Rocket Lake on Z490 will ditch Skylake arch and bring increased IPC.

I would be looking more in the 10700k price range, but it's just too hot for me. If I can't air cool it with an o/c and keep it pretty quiet not interested.

In Handbrake, my 10900k is scoring higher than a 3900x even though it has 2 more cores. Why you say? Because the 10900k has frequency and with 10 cores that is actually beating a 3900x - not by a huge amount, but still beating it.

Local prices might be different from MSRP, since its just released, prices should go down after release.

However, according to Wiki, OC for Comet Lake is only supported on Z490 socket. So motherboard for Intel will probably be more expensive than lower end AMD ones (B450, etc...).

The 10600K looks fantastic compared to the 8700K. They're basically exactly the same thing except the clock and price differences. I already felt the 8700K was the most you really need for gaming (at least today) so for the 10600K to be a couple hundred dollars cheaper, I could see that being pretty easy to recommend for gamers. Not all gamers, of course. As I say many times, sometimes all people care about is getting 60FPS. You can save $100+ on a different CPU that will get you 60FPS, and one that won't run so hot. The i5-10400F could be the best all-around gaming CPU for the price, but I don't know how that compares to a 3600.

The 10900K also looks fantastic compared to the 7900X. Sure, it has 2 fewer memory channels and fewer PCIe lanes, but that seems to be the only place where it falls short. Those extra memory channels are enough to make the 7900X keep up despite its lower clock speeds, but I wouldn't consider the 7900X to be worth double the price.
I don't find the 10900K easy to recommend. An overclocked 9700K is a smarter choice if you just care about the best gaming experience, and if you care more about multi-threaded performance, AMD has much smarter options for the same price.

There are a huge selection of Z490 to choose from. You don't need to buy an expensive Z490 board. The quality of the mobos are that good even a lower end, cheaper Z490 is great.

Zen 3 will eat this thing alive in just a few months.

Intel buyers: We want progress !!
Intel: Progress ? Naaah, get a new motherboard you peasants!

Joking aside, nothing new here, everybody expected this will be a terribly disappointing release, and it didn't disappoint in that regard:
    It's truly disappointing !

Anyone buying this either has too much money or too few brains. Or both.

Yep. a $200 board will have everything you'll need. Z490 boards are head and shoulders above Z390 boards. A $200 Z490 board is as good as a $300 Z390 board, in general.

Z390 was pretty good across the mobo makers, you had some that slacked, like ASUS, but now Z490 ASUS has IMHO the best boards now.
