at least they moved to new gfx engine like by last Rally 2.0. So it's going to be a openworld kind of thing? hmm.. and half of the map locked behind DLC?
Not impressed tbh aswell, as i got used to the simulation driving and tracks in the dirt rally franchise, there s no going back for me
Yeah, to me it looks mint. As for Horizon 4, well yeah, tangible, but the racing will require much more effort as with all Codies games. For me, I found Horizon 4 to be a bit of a wet fish. Great game though and a winner for a lot of folk.
Looking forward to a new Demo and more gameplay in real time as this one is too short , so far the similarities with Forza Horizon 4 it's uncanny , even down to the lightning bolts
I never played Forza Horizon 4 but I thought Dirt Rally was great, one of the best racing games I have ever played. You can feel the car on the road and the handling was great also. Dirt 5 is the newest one coming out and I hope it is good.
i got 3 dirts in my steam library, i know i was gifted one way back. 2 dirt 3s dirt rally, dirt 4.0? showed up for a day and vanished or something. now dirt 5? aio tennis is another title seems to reflip itself check how many versions of that tennis on steam. any of the dirts any good i never even installed any and my pedals are currently broke.
Dirt 2 is very good imo, lots of events and overall it feels maybe the most fun. You can skip Dirt 3, it's a cringeworthy and cut-down version of Dirt 2... imo. If you prefer more sim like racing and / or want pure rally, then Dirt Rally. Dirt 4 is kind of middleground between earlier Dirt games and Dirt Rally. If you like rally events most and more simcade driving it might be for you, but some other modes present in earlier games have been cut and those that remain are also somewhat barebones. All in all imo Dirt 2 is the best in the numbered series. EDIT: forgot to mention: I've always played racing games with a keyboard so these games are perfectly playable with KB. Spoiler You can also fine tune the sensitivity and steering works smartly ie. when you turn it doesn't magically wham the wheel all the way immediately but keeps turning when you press the button. For reference I'm playing Dirt 4 with Simulation handling with all driving assists turned off except antilock brakes and automatic transmission. AT is just for convenience - though manual would give better control ofc - but ABS brakes are pretty much a must for KB as you don't have any control over your braking force really. Sure you can decrease sensitivity there too but that just means your brakes become ineffective. Commendation for including lots of options for transmission mode, there's not just AT or MT but: Automatic Semi Automatic Manual Sequential Manual H-pattern Manual H-pattern with Clutch though the game warns you if you select the last one that remember, some cars have up to 8 gears
The best dirt was the first one, it felt like a rally game, dirt 2 yes was fun, but the other s no... Dirt 4 has the worst driving in them all, the physics and graphics are atrocious
my only "rally" exp in rl is mountain driving in winter in the ne bit on black ice one time. sos no idea ;p. sucks wo investing a ton for a hydraulic rig we cant really get the feel of the car under you thats the key in any driving where your suspension loads and car weight balance, some better head movement in some games to approximate it. never tried vr anyone else?
Soon with microtransactions! https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...confirms-proposal-for-acquisition-by-take-two
There is no harm in having two versions in the same franchise, having your standard Dirt games be more about arcade racing and then have the Rally series being more sim based. Though judging from the current steam reviews its not looking good for this one...
