I am currently running on a bit of an aged system, especially the GPU, but am also running @1080p, which hasn't given me much issues in most games. Do I upgrade now or should I wait until the new RTX 3000 series in August/September of this year? I am also looking at getting a new SSD, possibly one of those nvme m.1 or similar type speed SSDs, any help is appreciated, thanks!

    Current setup:

    i7-5820k @4.4Ghz
    16gb DDR4 3200
    Corsair AX850
    GTX 690 4B
    ASUS X99 Motherboard

This close to 3000’s, I’d wait. If anything to see how pricing goes on 2000 and 3000 series.

It's getting close, which is my issue, I hear August/September for new chips.

Only you can answer this. If you feel you need the upgrade now then get it now. If not, just wait for new cards and get a cheap used 20xx card when people are looking to ditch theirs.

It doesn't make sense to get a 2080 super or ti now when people will be selling them for cheap in a couple months basically..

The 2000 series value is bad, was always bad tbh.

I would wait till May 14 in which NVIDIA will probably announce Ampere line.

In case you need a card ASAP i would go for second hand 1080 or 1080TI, RX580 can do the job as well.
