I've taken a few precautions in case it's more deadly than the regular flue (also cleaned up everything, organized all of my food and supplements way ahead of time), but I'm still going out every day on my hour long walks (or I will get depressed) and today I went to another empty store with empty shelves and treated myself with a few exotic American items, yeah I know, cornbread, pancakes, etc. isn't very healthy, but I eat what I want and always will, besides my physician told me to gain a few pounds. I've not watched TV for eight years and won't break that trend, but I got plenty of distractions to keep myself occupied, a backlog of history books on my amazon account, games and in case they cut off the electricity, I've got enough yaoi and real life problems.

The lesson from every developed Country so far, like clockwork, is to make sure you have a reasonable amount of toilet paper before they announce anything, which, they will.

I read that Pakistan decided that they can't afford a lock-down. It will be interesting to see how that goes. Probably not well.

Bumping my art skillz, painting and drawing, looking forward to what I can create.
Ordered a load of good stuff today from Amazon to further this.

    Making my garden nicer.
I've got a load of compost and a boat load of seeds, it should keep me occupied.

Helping neighbours if they need things, but from a distance.
Anything we touch will be sprayed with methylated spirits to be sure its Cov19dead!
Wearing gloves and a towel round my head to breath through if I have to go to the shops. Everything I wear goes in the washing machine and I have a soapy bath.
Shoes get squirted with Methylated spirits.
Whats crazy is when wearing a towel, people keep away from me but they care less about people with a cough. I'm fine with that if they keep away from me.
But some people have deliberately coughed to try and get a scare response when passing, mostly kids.

Cycling away from humanity to keep fit. I live in the sticks so this is easy.

Watching movies/TV series and Gaming dudes!
A huge backlog of games and quite a lot of Blu Rays, should be fun.
Its about time I watched some stuff on my satellite recorder too, its nearly full.

Keeping kitty entertained, he's born of wild cats so can be a bit of a challenge.
This is one of the tougher things to do, he has the sharpest claws in the universe, lasers for eyes and a reaction time that breaks the laws of physics!
Gloves dont help, he passes straight through them.
He gets bored of toys on sticks quick which makes me use my hands more, bad idea.
Gotta stop getting cat stabbed cos its another entry point for this virus.
I reckon I'll make some cat runs made of boxes with toys and and an occasional treat.
He's as cute as hell though so well worth the effort :)

    Lots of other little things.
The biggest pain is not being able to meet people we know.

Yep. We keep a couple weeks supply on hand. We've been going out every day and have managed to stock up to about 2 months supply at this point. Went to Walmart last night and it was disturbing:
    • All meat was gone
    • All dairy was gone
    • All frozen dinners were gone
    • Half the dog food brands were sold out
    • most of the chips, crackers, and other packaged carbs were gone
    • Energy Drinks were down to off brands and sugar free only
    • They had one pallet of TP, and they had two people guarding it to make sure each customer only got 2 packages

Got snowed in and am working from home anyway, so I knocked out Halo CE (the new one - fantastic), Metro Exodus (aka STALKER 2), and will be stepping into Doom Eternal here shortly. I'm filling in the gaps with Borderlands 3 and TF2. Full disclaimer though - if the snow melts and we wind up with fantastic spring weather, I'll be playing outside (my mountain bike has a bad case of cabin fever). I live far enough away from civilization that I can ride for hours and not see anyone even when we're not on lockdown.

Other than not physically going in to work, this isn't really different (other than seeing way more people online in Steam).

From my profane point of view that lockdown (and self isolation) is overreaction.
As for toilet paper, back in USSR days toilet paper was not available 100% of time and in 100% of territory, so people used newspaper (and any available paper).
All people who was born and raised in USSR always have a stockpile in their homes - old habits.

I am working from home since yesterday through VPN which works okay but I work for a big company and now that everyone is working at home it puts a lot of strain on remote systems. I've got my coffee, sweatpants and the works. Could technically play some Black Mesa for a short moment here and there since we like most other companies suddenly have less to do. I like working at home but I'm also sure it will get lonely after a few days and right now I don't know how long we'll have to stay at home. Internet is working just fine so that's a relief (I've heard that there can be local issues regarding capacity here and there).

    Sad times indeed.

you dont have to prepare for the apocalypse but keeping a reasonable surplus of stuff "incase" is never a bad thing.

I suppose when emergency hits even in shredded form paper is still paper.

EDIT: Been about a week now and it's still going, wonder how much is actually being sold just out of curiosity and since it's going at a quick rate I'm expecting stores to be pretty stacked once new inventory arrives for next week. At least for the first day or two.

Now they're talking about 18-24 months of travel restrictions and quarantines, it's outright disgusting. I hope the media will be held responsible for the fearmongering.
