So I pre-downloaded this, and it clocked in at 37GB. That seems way too small (I swear the previous Doom was like 50-something). When it unlocks, is it going to have another couple dozen gigs to download?
^maybe for the sake of this "crysis" they do not want to heavy load the servers,too many users,etc.maybe after 1-2 weeks they will release Ultra Textures pack. Doom 2016 was good and worth buying after they removed that Denuvo.
Crap, due to Corona SEK has lost a lot of value to EUR and games are suddenly more expensive. If we'd had our own currency in Steam like most countries do this wouldn't have been a problem
exactly the opposite in my case.. we used to pay in $$ on Steam, but few years ago they changed that and now we pay in our local coin. so im not feeling the rise in currency i know its kinda corny to say.. but this situation will pass. everything that goes down right now, will go up eventually. the markest will heal, just stay alert if any of you are investing. gonna start DOOM in a few daysssss !!!
I have a review pending for this as Bethesda were kind enough to send over a code for the PC version. My dear lord, they've crammed so much into this game. The visuals are absolutely stunning, the combat (as you'd expect) is awesome, the music is absolutely kick ass and the amount of collectables, secrets and customisation is just bonkers. The game is a lot harder than Doom 2016 and it's a better game for it. Oh, and the performance is absolutely sublime. I'm playing at 1440p, all settings to ultra nightmare. The game doesn't miss a single beat. Will be sure to post the spoiler-free review when it's done.

Caved and bought it on Steam. I'll also try to replay Doom 2016 for a quick refresh of my memory, but I might not finish it before Eternal goes live. Either way, last time I played 2016 one I was locked at 60 FPS, now at 140 it's like a totally different game... awesomesauce!
Timezones, aren't they fun. Yeah, I still 11 hours... which is annoying. Should be a global release, I mean console owners are able to to go Gamestops today and get their copies. Yet, we are still set behind timezone locks and release windows.
Just a PSA: Don't use any external overlays to get the FPS in this game, doing so will effectively decrease your FPS because of a forced synchronisation between the render queues, Unwinder has gone to great lengths to explain this to ignorant Youtubers and eventually just disabled overlay support for this case by default to get them off his case. use the games internal fps counter instead.
I always played Doom 2016 not knowing that my FPS was lower than it should have been. If I use RTSS just to cap the FPS, does it cause the FPS to drop as well like using the overlay? (assuming it is not hitting the cap). Does Doom Eternal have an in-game FPS cap?
