Hi, So i'm currently using the wireless card Asus PCE-AC68, and sometimes the download speed just randomly cuts in half. It's easier to experience this while gaming, because out of nowhere the MS just spikes from a stable 20 ms to 160+ for a couple of seconds and then goes back. I've also noticed that the MS in general stays stable at a "bad" ping for some reason. When this happens i've done a couple of speedtests just to see, I can get like 100 / 500 mbit , and if I try on a different unit like our mac, the mac gets 400/400. So I figured there's a problem with my computer or something that makes it spike? I've also tried the network card in a different computer but on a different Internet without problems. Can there be signals or some settings that makes it unstable? I've experienced this before when I had a bad router and used the PCE-AC88 instead, it just couldnt get stable on my Inet. Anyone with experience here?

Bullshit. My ASUS PCE-AC68 is on 7.35.351.0 Broadcom drivers and connection is rock solid. Do you use AC router?

Task Manager stops working properly if you start it fresh after this point, the details tab won't load. Shutting down at this point bsods the machine, but doesn't specify in what module.
Hmm, this makes sense. However, I actually think this might be driver related because the Internet I have is 500/500 mbit, and when I had 300/300 the Inet wasnt that unstable. When I tried my wifi card on 30/5 there wasnt any issue at all. Seems like it gets more unstable when theres more bandwidth involved. I didnt have any issue yet with the other drivers, but i'll do some more testing.
I have another computer here now with the same specs and wifi card, but with the asus driver instead. I just did speedtest on both computers, and the one with asus drivers get 500/500, and mine get nearly 300/500 , MS is the same on both. Seems weird that the DL speed is the only one affected?
after changing the drivers, seems like the spikes are gone ingame at least. So only the problem above.
5ghz AC is very dependent on the origin AP, for example the AC68 and AC86 have very similar designs and antenna placement(same antenna type), but the AC86 has stronger WIFI when measured at distance. Thick walls are the bane of 5Ghz.
Hmm, well. I live in Norway and we're living in an apartment with "plaster walls", very tin walls. The router we're using is a Asus RT-AC 5300 so the signals arent a problem at least. it definitely does, the AC5300 has all the settings of the 3100 and 88u, its under the professional tab in the wifi config. unless you're still on 2017 firmware.
