Some of the Powercolor's have faster memory. They have some models with 525-550 core and 2.5 n/s memory @350+ memory
(x 2 = 700) If you can get this one then do so. Most XT's have 3.3 n/s memory.

Most XT's come loaded with 2.5ns or 2.8ns only the lite version of 9800XT's have 3.3's but i haven't see a 9800XT with 3.3 yet...best bet for you is ASUS comes loaded with 2.5ns guarenteeed

the powercolor radeon 9800 pro super gold clocked @ 400/760 is faster than some 9800XT's and it uses 2.2ns Hynix...which is kickass ram and you can squeezee it to 900 mhz via voltage mod....:D

Powercolor has 2.2 hynix i think. but i have had a terrible time with my powercolor 9700 pro and so did many others.
    but they may have improved.
I dont think 9800XT is available in extreme edition. its 9800 pro EE from sapphier which came with heatpipe.
Using Heatpipe on 9800 XT will be madness...
dont wait for EE 9800 XT.
and 2.5 ns is is rated at 800 Mhz. Way more than 9800 XT stock. so you can overclock a lot even with 2.5 ns RAM.
even with 2.2ns RAM i dont think you will be able to get the card at 900 Mhz due to limitations of architecture.
And i am not brave enough to take chance with Powercolor whose past is not too good for expensive card like 9800 XT.
I have ordered sapphier for me.

thanks funkymonkey some good sound advice:)

If only i had known that the sapp ult edition only had the heatpipe i thought it might of been just a little high clock/core speeds:rolleyes: anywayz im thinking of getting a Zalman 80C-HP and a ZM-OP1 on it this a wise move? or is the cooling on the 9800xt go enough?

p.s hopefully my sapp is on its way soon:D

stock cooling is really good on xt.
    it covers whole ram too.
i dont think you need a heatpipe on xt.

What about OCSystem.com's Enhanced 9800XT. It comes shipped pre overclocked 440 / 780. That is what I plan on purchasing next year. I have used previous ehanced versions of their cards and they are truly amazing. Plus it comes with the Zalman fan allready included in the price.

    Check it out here:
