Most notable opengl games in recent years seem to be these

    Rage (2011)
    Wolfenstein: The New Order (2014)
    Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (2015)
    DOOM (2016)

Rage 2 was Vulkan and as is the upcoming Doom Eternal. Vulkan being an enhanced form of opengl with lower overhead looks like it may be the API of choice where performance is concerned.

I use my rig for video editing audio creation as well as gaming. next step Ryzen 3800X and double RAM to 64 Gb.

I think Opengl has always been NvidiaGL tbh.

I don't know if something has gone on behind closed doors, but Opengl has always sucked on ATI CARDS.

Obviously barely any games use it, but I can confirm that if you use Emulators. The difference between running opengl and then switched to Vulcan is at least 50% increase.

Is your GPU running at stock clocks? I'm surprised that your score isn't higher, being a Gaming X Trio model. There are the boost clocks of 1545MHz, the Founders at 1635MHz and the Gaming X Trio at 1755MHz. Are you maybe running into power limiters? Have you increased the power limit %? There is anywhere from 150MHz - 200MHz sustained load core clock discrepancy between them.

Just curious since I was running into massive power limits even at stock with my Gaming X Trio.

Sadly I have run into this many times over the years with my AMD cards. Had a 6870, then a 7870, to an R9 280, then an R9 290X and now a RX 580. This has been one of my main reasons (I play many emulated titles of varying ages) to have at least one Nvidia GPU around. Still boggles my mind how an identical setup with an RX580 can run OpenGL in emulators like trash but the GTX 670 I have lying around somewhere runs all of them like a dream. I helped a friend build a R5 3600 + 5700XT build and until Vulkan came along he was playing Breath of the Wild on CEMU at ~20 FPS.

On topic, the overall score is just your average FPS with the decimal removed. Like @nizzen presumably having an average FPS of 154.28 in the screenshot above.

Bleh. I know my "XFX - THICC III Ultra AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card - Black" isn't quite state of the art, but it seems like it should do a bit better than that.

Technically speaking, your PCIe 4.0 7nm GPU is more "state of the art" than my PCIe 3.0 12nm GPU. :) I do hope AMD gets better represented in this benchmark, as right now it does not paint an accurate picture.

Good review but the question is will the bot (HWBot) allow this new benchmark test hope so.

It's sucked on Windows but on Linux it's actually been pretty solid. AMD has just neglected it's Windows GL drivers for whatever reason - probably because there aren't many games that specifically use it and don't have DX option.

Patience. The download servers will sync up. Somtimes it will take a while for all have updated.

I understand that, but then again why post it before it does..?

Because apparently the server missed an rsync somehow. The binaries should have been updated at 1pm cest.

This also happens often for "3DMark Download", but sometimes one link is the new file and usually the primary link is the old one... :D

That last one on 3DMark was my bad, one server was not configured properly and kept hosting an older revision. This was fixed.

Just bad luck, anyway I added an author link that'll work, the German mirror seems to have synced and the NL mirror should be syncing in just over an hour.

Benchmark runs for 30 seconds for a reason.
That is to take advantage of the nvidia boost tech that takes advantage of cooler temperatures.
Sound like another way to nibble 5% increase in the score.
