Yeah that's what I'm thinking. And indeed, I don't think this has been explicitly stated anywhere which in itself is a bit strange. I don't believe this will work. It's basically a screw you to anyone who doesn't buy the DLC. I'm not discrediting what you said but rather if that's the case then Massive did what I was worried they'd do. So will lvl 40 players have their own world tier / events / server then in DC? I'm guessing all new loot is DLC exclusive as well. Meaning new items. I'll surely wait until release before buying the DLC to see how things go. I still don't see how this can work.
" Players who don’t own the expansion will continue to protect Washington D.C. in World Tier 5, at Level 30 and an increased 515 Gear Score. They won’t be able to join New York players or Level 40 agents in the Level 40 Washington D.C or New York activities, but will still share public spaces such as Settlements or the Base of Operation. " Straight from the website, I get what you mean though. its a bit of a shame to split things up
If that's the case, it's going to be massively unpopular and it is going to drive players out of the game. Because e.g. your friend didn't want to buy DLC while you did and now suddenly you can't play together anymore. I get gating NY and the items from it behind the DLC, that would be fine, but the rest of the player base should have access to lvl 40 and the higher variant of items that already drop from DC. It still is going to favor people with DLC, but it will not just segregate those with and without DLC into basically two separate games.
Yeah, splitting the player base is NEVER a good thing. That being said, those who love the game will buy the DLC. Still, some won't. I don't know, if I was someone really into the game, I'd buy it. If I only played it casually once in a while, I probably wouldn't. Those players won't be online much anyway. Still, splitting is bad. I think they'll have to do something about this eventually. Either offer a big sale after a couple of months or so, or do away with the splitting altogether via a patch. I can see it happening. For me personally, this DLC is the reason to come back to this game, a game that had zero meaning to me once I hit end game. And I took a week off work to play this at launch, because I loved the first game, but TD2 was a big disappointment in many important ways (gearing mainly).
Oh crap. So the userbase is dwindling and they cap nonDLC players at level 30. Wonderful.... Massive is just completely clueless at this point.
Yeah if they didn't know what to do with the game earlier then this isn't any better at least. Well, I'll continue grinding for Savage Wolverine and Chameleon in the meantime anyway. Plus not fully final with my build, need more appropriate gear still. Also it seems I may need to create two loadouts, one for stacking Crit Chance and Damage and other more balanced with more Armor and Skill Power (but still focused on damage).
Any idea why sometimes a LOT of assets are taking to long to load, so i have to wait around 30 seconds to load? Not in the first startup of the game, but after playing some time. internet 50 down - 10 up Running on Samsung Evo 860. Maybe a driver bug?
Have that too sometimes, I bet it's just a "feature" of the game. Speaking of which the Detection perk no longer activates when donating resources to CP officer (since TU) it seems. I don't remember TUs for Division 1 introducing new bugs this consistently...
Another video about Gear 2.0: - Damage to Elites and - weapon damage from gear mods will be removed completely it seems. Talk about a nerf...
//rage on Does anyone else find the new font for floating damage numbers in TU7 excessively large and annoying? Seriously why would they increase the god damn size of these numbers?!?! Instead of fixing broken things, they just keep breaking things that are OK... //rage off
I guess they will cap lvl 30 players at that like it happens with any MMO, for example, when new expansion comes out. You can still get some of the expansion stuff but cant progress levelling, sucks but not that surprising to me i guess. ive farmed enough material for now, destroyed gear and got cash, ready for DLC Trying to unlock fire specialisation now!
You get the 515 item increase and the updates from TU8 in general but yeah the expansion ups the level cap to 40 and LV31 items beat GS515 items though once you start the expansion for whatever reason you have to finish it before you can leave the new area and it's four zones I think it was so until then you're stuck in New York 2.0 this place is a swamp too now. Think the same goes for whatever the above heroic difficulty level was as that requires level 40 pitting players against some other Tusk because painting them white is completely different although from what I have heard they are a bit different in abilities so it's not just dumping half your total ammo into each dude until they die. (Well it's usually not that bad and skills do help.) Material collection and the gear system also works, collecting things early also lets you begin breaking everything down early for the way the changes to gear upgrading works as you need to find each trait on a item at least once so you can add it to the pool and use for other items so having a ton of gear lets you get started a bit faster but then items drop everywhere and the general changes to TU8 and Gear 2.0 is still going to need a bit of a overhauling on existing characters for whatever is still good. (~nothing? ) and what you might want especially changes to how skill power is now some tiered thing which I expect also really changed (Made less OP.) the way the Technician class works but the others are probably changed as well. Could also use the time to go through another ton of points and leveling for maxing the new flamethrower class and it's challenges but until March 2nd or 3rd or when it was that the expansion came out and TU8 it's mostly smaller busywork since the gear changes will require some re-optimization and off to New York for those who pick up the expansion. Queues are back too now so I expect some initial server waiting times as players come back and check out both of these with the new patch and the added content though it seems to go pretty quickly most of the time. Highest I've seen was position 41 shortly after TU7 rolled out, don't think I've been queued since shortly after the game itself came out though I didn't play too much after hitting the level cap and finishing the main missions mostly doing small runs through added content and occasionally the apparel challenges though only partially. Grinding for pieces of textiles from duplicates could also be a thing for that sort of stuff it takes a pretty high amount to unlock most any item from what I checked. (Almost finished off the operator apparel only missing the boots and then I can finally shelve those Dallas things ha ha, well they're not the flip-flops at least.) EDIT: Though apparel cache keys are really random now sometimes it's 2 - 3 levels sometimes it's 10+ though I expect it's one algorithm the developers can tweak to increase appeal and fine tune for further events whatever is next. Easter? Not the bunny suit players were expecting...or perhaps it was. EDIT: Same as the santa suit it's a idea based of some unfinished(I think?) not implemented cosmetic items from the first game. Though so far I believe a majority of the content in Division 2 has been new and not re-used. (Which I suppose is a good thing, astronaut outfit kinda made it but yeah that rabbit costume might need some tweaking before it gets thrown into the sequel here ha ha.)
Yeah, I get CTDs every 30 min on dx12. No crashes on dx11, but instead it stutters sometimes. The new recalibration seems great, but the nerfs to weapon dmg and dmg to elites is a bit worrisome. If there is no tuning, it will turn almost everyone in the higher difficulty missions into bullet sponges and even if they will not rush you, it will make it take just longer. Btw, I hope they will allow to pick difficulty on the new missions. The default story difficulty they force on the first playthrough is just boring.
The dx12 renderer is to blame, Microsoft has explicit guidelines to adhere to, like not returning null in a shader routine.
I still remember the first DirectX on my Matrox card back then, it was a total failure. Then 3dfx came along and wiped the floor with anyone else. I think it's time Direct3D gets more competition.
Same here, DX12 CTDs a lot. Shame because it runs better than DX11. Also weird because I played the Beta for 3...4 hrs in DX12 and not a single crash then.
D3Ds, including D3D12, are completely fine. Very good APIs for every given era. Also Matrox has never been known for good(or any) 3D acceleration. It was only known for good analog output. And D3D has always had a solid competition. Whether it was Glide, OpenGL, Metal or Vulkan, there is always a good cross-platform counterpart to D3D. And lastly, I play Div2 with D3D12 on (and even with low-latency on) since beta and I only had 1 or 2 unrelevant CTDs. 250 hours on record and counting...
Funny story. Just got the game for $3 on EGS, can't go wrong for that. Then I see this thread being used again
