AOC releases 35in ultrawide gaming display with 200 Hz, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and G-Sync Ultimate: AGON AG353UCG

Looks great but the pricing is nuts.

 

Price is a bit steep imo and it seems there's no crosshair option.

 

It really looks like they don't want HDR 600 , it's either 400 or 1000 ( nothing or ultra expensive )

 

Same goes for Freesync Premium Pro label.

 

@Hilbert Hagedoorn ... I understand the spec of Gsync Ultimate and Freesync Premium Pro ... it's just that I am not prepared ... and I think I will never be to drop so much cash for a monitor, even IF I had the money ... same goes for, I think the majority of ppl on these site or around the globe.

 

That`s more than what i`ve spent on my whole system in the last 12 months.

 

I believe that LG won't be able to produce enough 48 inch OLEDs with G-sync/Freesync and perfect HDR, seeing the prices of these FALD monitors these days... I will have to pre-order it somehow.

 

At that price just no, LG C9/CX is a way better solution.

 

Monitor manufacturers need to realize that their prices cannot compete with prices of TVs, now way would I go for this instead of LG OLED tv or Samsung QLED which also has FALD.

 

Need the cross-hair dot, full 4k (3840 x 2160) resolution
and also a sensible price to truly be a game changer.

 

It's 21:9 so it wouldn't have that resolution.

 

What is the experience like with an HDR monitor? I've never experienced a true HDR setup (just my TV's fake HDR branding to sell units), so really curious as to what people think. Is it a lot brighter than a typical monitor? I usually lower my brightness quite a bit as I don't like staring at a super bright screen. I read that you can make out more detail contrast wise that you would miss without HDR, but is it a game changer, or just an OK upgrade?

 

Proper HDR is a game changer. If you have all the three ingredients of HDR: wide colour gamut, high contrast and proper brightness, the image just turns to life and you can't go back to SDR, since it feels dull and lifeless.

The Australian min wage gives you 2.964 $AU per month, or about 1800€? That's actually pretty high... still, that screen's expensive!

 

It's a really nice screen, but that price = a firm No from me. I can almost buy a 65" C9 LG OLED for that amount. These Manufacturers are simply out of touch when it comes to pricing.

 

This monitor was looking awesome, then it lost me at VA, and completely lost me when I saw the price:/
