I just bought a used RX 570 and when I turn the pc on, I get a red and green flashing screen with big cut up letters on the left bottom side in colors where I should be presented with a bios screen reminding the correct F# keys.

There doesn't seem to be any other problem even while playing games, but since I have a return warranty, I want to know.

Do you have an idea what it could be about ?

It's been crossflashed then, as I suspected.

So, does that mean I just shall return it or can I just keep on using it for entertainment or fix it some other way ?

download atiflash and open the folder and hit alt f s a and that will open a command prompt in admin mode.

    type Amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0 .. hit enter

type Amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 XXXX.rom (XXXX is name of downloaded rom) hit enter and then reboot system

I did that and after starting Windows it gave a blackscreen with a constant whirring sound (must be just the cooler)

you'll need to recover with a second gpu ,, find the right bios as this 1 wasnt right if it black screened then the bios bricked

same procedure but command would be 1 instead of 0

may i ask where you got the bios image from?

Must be techpowerup. I never tried installing more than one gpu, I hope I can do that on Gigabyte GA-P43-S3G motherboard

I tried the one ending with 0323, this time it works as before but I still get that flashing colored screen where bios shall be. I'll try that too.
