Windows update blindsided you and installed the 432 driver, i assume you selected to do a clean install?

It is very likely to have happened. Replacing a Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 video driver, it must be done with completely disabled internet connection before removing the old driver. The internet can only be turned on when the new driver installation is finished.

Sometimes the Windows is nasty and considers the new driver as old, automatically changing to an older version through Windows Update...
How the Windows consider the spcific driver is old - I don't know...but happening to me on the notebook with a integrated Intel graphic card.

NVIDIA Vulkan Developer Beta Driver 441.99, vs GeForce 442.01, which one are newer?

Exactly this, actually this has been the case since Windows 8, removing, cleaning, installing or whatever operation on nvidia driver should be done when Ethernet or WiFi is disabled to succeed

I'm on 441.87 driver, and the DPC latency peaks are the highest I've seen them, but it's not in the danger zone. Fairly likely these latest nvidia drivers increase DPC latency then.

Running 441.87 (2080) and win decided to start booting in low res incl desktop, after about 10s the res changes back to 1440p.
Did recover a previous image but started to see same prob after a while.
Wasnt running the previous driver long enough to tell if its the cause, nothing in change log that would explain it.
Got no problem even with max load, so im a bit at a loss about the cause.

    What motherboard?
This has been linked to msi tomahawk(max) b450 bios's, and Asus Hyper M2X16 being enabled on respective boards.

    get 7C37vA6 installed
and turn off 10bit tag support in bios.
