so nvidia offers only the DCH drivers there's no more Standard ones from their site, how is the process with it? Is it still possible to do the same guide here?

Also if I remember the DCH drivers come without the classic nvidia control panel, do we have to get it via the MS store or how was it again?

Wherever you read this I suggest you read it again or look a little more closely at it, because they still do exist.

    Hint: Archive.

Now that I'm running and AMD card as my main - this is new for me.

Why the sudden shift? I will look into DCH options.

    Noooooooooo, I hope we don't lose this great thread. ;_;

Also I'm all in for DCH if it can be cleaned the same way like the standard version

    I still have a laptop with GTX 1060. ;)
Will have to test it out. Not sure why they have made the decision to shift towards DCH.

Not sure too, but NGX core is not included or at least isn't detected by the slimming applications. Not sure how it is downloaded / installed then.

@cryohellinc do you know if I can clean the latest insider preview 445.23? The folder's files are all over the place and not tidied up like when you extract from the official release. Unfortunately I have deleted the folder so I cannot provide any pictures. :x

You can clean it, but it's tedious. Extract any whql driver folder, then inside it open the folders which you would delete normally. Copy files from those folders into the preview driver folder, overwrite them. Afterwards while they are still selected - delete them.
    Rinse and repeat.

Config file can be cleaned exactly the same way as in WHQL driver.

This is the only more-or-less quick way to do this process.

Or save the list of files found in those subdirs and place a del command before each lines, execute from the root dir. This probably takes a comparable amount of time but it's re-usable. I guess I will try this soon (I decided to install 20H1) and share the cmd file.

I have no idea what both you said so I will wait for you to release that cmd file. :p

I have nowhere near the knowledge necessary to do so. But you are more than welcome, and thank you!

I eventually gave up because it proved more complicated than I expected. There are plenty of new files in the beta driver and it's also DCH (which I have zero experience with). On the other hand, it's already fairly light-weight (no GFE and Ansel stuff which would bother me with the in-game popups and accidental game-config changes), so I simply installed it as is (I don't mind the telemetry too much as long as it doesn't show me popups and offers and such...).

Unless there are some radical changes, I usually don't even bother installing all those preview drivers. More often than not they cause more issues benefits.
