With these drivers it's the same as with modeed Quadro drivers where some people detect a slightly better IQ?

 

Can't say for sure.The package is lighter like the quadros, more basic, some people like that.

 

And fairies flying out of your monitor.

 

Image quality is good.
Doc's mom looked like she was coming out of the monitor at me, but that happens with every driver.

 

Anyway better than current ones? Any bug or downside with these?

 

Other than the slight hang on shutdown or restart, they're smooth in gaming.Performing well with Witcher 3.

I just signed up to ask this question. I know this is an old thread but i would like to know how can i run an Nvidia Tesla for gaming.

I found a Nvidia Tesla M2090 6GB GDDR5 for like 40$ on ebay. If it woks for gaming what performance should i be expecting comparable to what card ?

You can't. Tesla cards don't have any video output port to connect your monitor to. You can't do any gaming if you can't see what you're playing, right?

Even if it works for gaming (which it doesn't), modern games will run like crap on that 9 year old architecture.

If you want to do gaming, buy a 10-series or newer GeForce card. Also be careful about counterfeit/fake GeForce cards on ebay.

 

Well people ARE gaming on the series 10 equivalent (p106-100) mining cards that have no ports at the back and those cards cost 1/3 of the price all you need is another old gpu or integrated graphics to connect your monitor to.

I thought the same could be done for the Teslas. A processor is just a processor doesn't care what you use it for maybe it for AI to save the world or just plain gaming

 

I'm pretty sure not many people are. It's a hack of the Optimus technology which depends on older Nvidia drivers, certain Intel iGPUs, and some motherboards. It also doesn't work well on newer games which need newer drivers.

The maker gets to decide how their processors are used, and Nvidia cares enough to make Tesla and mining-only cards not available for gaming.

 

Well i plan to give the p106-100 a chance since its 1/3 - 1/4 the price of the 1060
