Are we ever going to get a new NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL ???

1,5 years later, I still think the looks of the Nvidia control panel is perfectly fine. It's simple and clean, the main problem is still its speed.

I used AMD's control panel back in summer and I found it annoying. Annyoing background colors, annoying tabs to have to click through to get where you want.

 

I "have the skills" to play and record music. Lots of people may think it sucks, but I don't get all butt hurt over it and take it as an "insult". I actually like to hear about it, so I can improve or at least know what they didn't like about it.

Or hiding things behind more and more menus and side menus.


In other news, on newer drivers in Windows 7 NVCP (Nvdisplacontainer.exe or whatever) actually breaks Aero support. You have to disable the displaycontainer service for it to work lol.

 

not seeing that at all, unless something broke with recent cumulative updates.

old work say good in most time and is very simple and enough
second, 99,9% of user dont know CPL exist in first place and rest using AB , nvinspector or silimar utilities...

but maybe nice skin for this ugly thing nobody kills

 

ROFL, I was guessing that those who commented my post were savvy enough to notice it was a matter of screen resizing.

 

No, we were savvy enough to reject the horrible settings ui that should be deleted and returned back being a proper control panel.

 

We are clearly seeing different things here. I see titles and subtitles, nothing more, nothing less.
Which gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect when I open the next window.
Something like newspaper articles, if you know what I mean.
Title + subtitle = summary of the article.
The rest is personal preferences, which makes it pointless to carry the discussion any further.

Which on Windows 10 is two clicks away, unless you are working on something you deem superior.

I'd have a better one if you'd stop neglecting the fact that a number of the control panel applets no longer exist.

 

I see all of you are passionate and not lazy people (ready to exchange with opinions in rounds forever).
I see many benefits in such threads, like:
- exploring the capacity of forum`s servers;
- testing your own and your opponents` tolerance.

 

I don't really have an issue with the looks really. It's ugly, but i know where everything is, i change my settings, and never look at it again.

I would like it to be faster though, and therefore need to look at it even less.

There's got to be a way to speed up changing settings. If it's somehow unsafe, then allow me to change settings quickly, but que up the changes to happen as slow as it needs to be without me waiting.

 

I liked the Detonator control panel. Then ATI released their "Catalyst Control Center" b.s. and for some strange reason, Nvidia thought it would be smart to add a bunch of b.s. into their driver as well, and rename it to Forceware, which was formerly the title of a demo CD.

 

Nvidia is not going to regress their feature set by 15 years. Why do you want that? I swear sometimes the rose tinted glasses and nostalgia really messes with some of you here.

 

WOW LOLOL ROFL got owned! Oh wait, where did I, or others say that the classic one we got now was a good UI design? Maybe you can point that out for me?

 

Why are you taking that so personally? He is just amused by the UI's inability to scale to larger window sizes.
