It is always a bit of a mystery what new codenames will become for GPUs, CPUs and thus case APUs. Komachi Ensaka on his twitter account posted an interesting name for future APUs.... Next generation APUs from AMD will be code-named Cézanne
I'm looking forward to seeing what the performance will be once they add navi in the new APU's combined with 7nm
Chiplet based APU with a decent TDP allowance 95W and up could redefine the entry-level gaming performance. Basically, such a design may completely kill the low-end dGPU market, anything below xx60 class would not make sense anymore.
i wonder if the wait for zen3 is due to ddr5, they now can fit an 8c16t part and that + a low-mid range gpu on the other die is gonna need some serious bandwidth or maybe they're just being reserved for next gen consoles...
What wait? They have released a CPU every year. And whatever CPU was released that year gets re-released the next year as an APU. DDR5 however will not be on Zen3, this has been marketed
I wish they'd release the 4200 and 4400g. I'd like to upgrade my 1200 with a 2700X, 3600, 4200G or 4400G. If I lived within 50 miles of Microcenter, I'd have bought one of those $130+tax 2700Xs. If AMD makes me wait too long for 4200 and 4400G, I'll just buy a used dirt cheap 3600.
