    You can use real-time, freeze time, etc, spawn animals, peds, horses, etc, change the weather with Script Hook.

    So just an update -- DX12 crashes a lot for me still. I had to go back to vulkan. Vulkan is lower overall FPS but its stable and doesn't crash all the time. Shame...
     

  5. Hows everyone going with the collector role? I literally played for like 10hrs yesterday and probably 10 the day before.

    Ive sort of been experiencing that just grinding one collector map after the other isnt much fun. Ive also found that for some reason I seem to be constantly finding multiple of the same items...whether its tarot cards, arrowheads or jewelry and booze. I dont know if this is because I sold my collection before having a full set and its glitched the game out or something?

    I had collected 9 of 12 arrow heads and the next 2 maps I bought from Nazar had arrow heads that Ive already spent hours collecting. I wasnt going to spend another 10hrs collecting arrow heads....

    Im enjoying it, When I get a map it only takes about 30 mins to find the 3 items. Its also random what you get, you can get the same items from a set you already have.

    You can get the collector items at random from bodies too and just at random in the world, they also change weekly.

    Weird, based on my experience and many other's Vulkan gives better performance than DX12. Besides I also get frame pacing problems with DX12, which cause a slight stuttering.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled this game, verified it numerous times (no errors reported) but as soon as I resume a Story mode save then the game hangs just as it is going into the gameplay and the launcher reports the game stopped unexpectedly. I have renamed my original save folder and let the game restore the cloud saves but that doesn't do anything either.

    The only way I can resume the Story is if I use Safe mode every time to reset the settings then I can continue the game. I can then set the graphics, restart the game and resume the Story without any issues. In fact, I can quit the game and resume as well.

    However, if I turn my PC off, as I have done overnight, then as soon as I reload the game it is back to hanging at the same point when I resume the last save (this game allows multiple saves but only resumes from the last save).

    It's a weird and frustrating issue that has only started happening in the last week. I just do not understand why it is doing this.

    There is a crash log in the game folder but it shows nothing obvious.

    This are no errors in the event log for this game either.

    Looks like I might have to contact Rockstar support about this unless anyone on here knows why this is happening and has only started happening after 38 hours of issue-free gaming. Heck, I wasn't even one of the unlucky ones that could start the game at launch as it worked perfectly for me from Day One.

    Found this potential fix which I'll try later:

    Open Rockstar game launcher - Settings - My installed Games - view save files.

    Select all the files and place them into a new folder on your desktop, launch RDR2 (IF YOU HAVE CLOUD SAVES, LAUNCH THE GAME WITHOUT THE CLOUD SAVES ACTIVE, they will frack it up again. I kind of know why the saves get corrupted but I can't be arsed to explain it right now) and start a new game skip all cutscenes until you're on your horse next to dutch, quit the game and do the same thing as before - Open Rockstar game launcher - Settings - My installed Games - view save files.

    Go to the folder you made on your desktop that contain all your old files. Select the latest savefile

    (Tip - check the date and time the files was last used and take the latest file based on said time and date * the savefile should be named something like this SRDRxxxx*)

    And place ONLY that savefile into the ''view save files'' folder from the Rockstar game launcher.

    Launch the game and enjoy.

    EDIT! Once you've done the fix and are ingame make sure to restore your graphical options to default - save the game- then restart RDR2

    has anyone used the FOV mod? Before last weeks patch I was using it to increase 1st person FOV. After the last patch it was broken but then a new version of the mod was released, however windows says it s a virus and shuts it down. I tried to add the mod to the exception list for defender but windows wouldn't let me rendering the mod useless because it is shut down and removed from my desktop upon launch. Nothing I've tried has worked...

    Would love for this to work QOL wise, the 1st person FOV is still pretty narrow even when maxed in game. Hoping there is a decent mod community for the game, would love a more hardcore combat mod for my next play through.

    Yeah, it is such a strange glitch as I never any problems with saves until last week and, as I said previously, I had played 38 hours up to that point. Now the game seems to be corrupting the autosave for no reason at all. Doesn't make any sense.

    The only thing that has changed on my PC was Windows 10 being upgraded from v1903 Build 18362 to v1909 Build 18363 but the issue did not happen straight after that so I do not think that is the cause. I only use the built-in Windows Defender and it has exclusions for both the game and save folders so, again, I do not believe that is the culprit either.

    Seems that other people have also had this issue and I wonder if it is a bug with the cloud save feature of the Rockstar Games Launcher. I noticed when I deleted my local saves (well, renamed the folder) with the cloud save enabled that the launcher prompted me to restore the saves from the cloud. When I did this it would return a sync error after a few minutes and none of the saves would download. As far as I can tell, the save folder has all the correct permissions so that shouldn't cause any issue and, besides which, the save system (local and cloud saves) have been working fine for 38 hours.

    I'll try the fix suggested above... which I kind of did do last night but because the cloud save would not restore my saves I manually copied them from the renamed folder into the new one created by the game when I started a New Game. This seems to have triggered the issue again. The fix I posted above mentions to ONLY restore the lastest save and not all of them.

    I use a new slot every time I save manually so at this point in the game I have used every slot and have overwritten older ones several times now (since there are only a limited number of save slots). Maybe the bug manifests if, like me, you have used all the save slots and the cloud save system somehow gets "confused"? That might explain why it was unable to restore all of my saves from the cloud.

    Perhaps I should limit the number of manual save slots I use to just 2 or 3 and see how that works out?

    If anyone has a fix for this issue that doesn't involve me deleting the autosave and launching the game in Safe mode each time it happens then I would be very grateful.

    Maybe its an architecture thing? I had zero stutters under DX12. Where I would get 44 fps in some of the intense water/lighting scenes I would get maybe 48-50 fps with DX12. My only issue is the crashes. I would go to turn in a mission and 3 times in a row crash after nearly completing the mission. Went back to vulkan and played for 3 hours with zero issues.

    You can sell those items you have more than once, but a complete set of something is what you're aiming for. (as she says all the time)

    Never open more maps than one, the old waypoints will disappear. If you come across a waypoint where no items shows up even after searching for longer, than just join another online session. That should fix the issue and respawn the item.

    It may be tedious at first but you earn money by finding items and buying the maps. Every 5 levels you get a treasure map - or you spot an NPC looking at the horizon with a spotter glass. The NPC will sell you a treasure map for 10$.
    Each treasure might be worth 80 - 120$ so its a good deal.

    The blue points you get can unlock special equipment for the collectors, like the shovel and metal detector. Get the showel first, it unlocks dig sites for you so you can buy those maps as well.

    Figure out what cycle the game is on, it changes every 24 hours. There are 3 cycles. I usually do some random spots until I start getting duplicates (need metal detector and shovel). Once I am only missing a few I target those specific collectibles so I can complete the set and mail them in at the post office. I only sell duplicates if I have 3 or 4.
