1usmus Custom Power Plan for Ryzen 3000 Download

On my ASUS X370-Prime I don't have any of the 3 bottom options:

• CPPC Preferred Cores = Enabled
• AMD Cool'n'Quiet = Enabled
• PPC Adjustment = PState 0

The rest do exist, but they seem to have no effect...

Well, in that case I'll see in a few weeks, after the new firmware/agesa is released, if this applies to older mobo as well.

TBH I don't feel the need to change ye olde X370, CPU is working just fine on it with benchmark results within 1-2% of people with X570 (sometimes even faster!) So nothing to complain there !

 

Yeah. I have the 1003ABBA and No performance increase for my 3600. MSI have not released the new 10004 bios for my board just yet. End of November, think I read somewhere.

 

Not that many motherboards got it so far, and most of it is in trial/test mode.
It will be a while...

Update - With the latest Windows 10 (1903?), freshly installed, and everything updated to the bleeding edge... it still doesn't lock threads to core (they continue to jump around) and this profile profile has zero effect.

The only thing missing is AGESA 1.0.0.4 (my mobo is still on Dancing Queen one...)
I'm guessing it only works with it.

 

you need 1909 for the "multiple preferred cores" changes.

or else it'll still hop around CCD's.

The power profile has absolutely no impact on how the windows kernel throws tasks to cores.

 

This powerplan boosted my Ryzen 3600's original Cinebench R20 score from 3500 to 3520!

 

Just upgraded to gigabytes f10a bios yesterday and I will be taking this power plan for a hella spin today.

Loving the added influx of interest in the idea of power and core clocks for Ryzen support...!!

Well I got the latest Bios now 1004B. My 3600 does not show any more performance currently but I decided to check out some of the new features and in PBO I managed to underclock all cores to 546Mhz.
Damn, I thought I had swopped in a penty4 1.8 Willamette.

 

When I was implementing PowerPlanExplorer utility I dived into Win API functions related to power plans, power management and I got impression that Windows has to support any setting in power plan. (For Intel Windows uses intelppm.sys driver, for AMD - amdppm.sys.) I mean you can`t add new setting to power plan without support from Windows itself. If that assumption is true, new BIOS can`t help in case Windows does not support setting for power plan.

 

For sure, if nothing else the new Bios 1004B are great for really faster boot times.
I guess there is still some way to go before we get a final version.
But lets not forget that some previous Bios had properties that Unlocked certain locked SOC's.
Which may be in that case the best to stick with.

I have been using this for a few days ,seems to be ok.Although not preferred cores as marked in Ryzen Master.

Still no effect on older X370 motherboard with AGESA 1.0.0.3abba, with Windows updated to latest patch and AMD Chipset drivers newest available.

And my guess is that the reason for no effect is that unlike @gerardfraser 's screenshot (with a nice continuous line on the same core), for my computer CB still jumps randomly between 2-3 cores instead of sticking to the same one.

I strongly think that 1.0.0.4 is pretty much needed across the board to see this "KEEP IT ONLY ON THIS CORE" effect, which also results in slightly higher boost clocks.
