Why, because of the space requirement? C'mon... nobody cares, really, and even large SSDs don't cost a fortune anymore.

It's more of a good sign, to some at least, as that leaves room for better textures.

Some people, a lot of people do care.
There are people still stuck on internet services with download and data limits. And with no other option because of where they live.

So, yes, a lot of people will pass on the game due to it's size.

As the performance in this game is rather abysmal, i hope it has sli support.

And, how do you know the performance is abysmal? The game isn't out yet.

I could ran the BETA maxed out at 1080p, 125% scale with out a problem at around 80 to 60 fps
So, perf. is not abysmal as you say and I bet the final game will ran even better.

Had to turn AA off at 4K, but otherwise game was running around 80fps maxed out with the 2080-ti at 4K. Which is rather good compared to title like BF5/Battlefront 2.

Nothing wrong with performance, on the contrary i would argue.

You would be surprised how many nay sayers
Its a sad truth for some unfortunately. If I was in that position I would just buy the physical disk.

@TaskMaster ... should there be one, yes. I haven’t seen one on sale in Europe so far, some of the latest games only had codes in boxes.

@Damien_Azreal Possibly, but these people are screwed gaming with such a slow/limited connection anyhow.

Because there was an open beta a very short while ago ? -_-

And no, the performance isn't going to drastically improve in the short timespan from open beta to release.

Has there ever been a point in time where 144Hz was easy or „pleasant“ to drive? It always needed new and fast hardware plus games that were not that demanding.
I stepped down from 120Hz to 100Hz because there‘s no way I’m going to spend the money to drive 1440p ultra-wide at a higher pace.

No, it’s just that I like it for the high-resolution textures it may include (wasn’t it supposed to use photogrammetry at some point?).
Plus I simply don’t care about size anymore.

I play on PC, so I know it takes some dedication (=money/time) to enjoy.
To enjoy this, it takes either a fast connection or enough hard disc space. Or both.
My game SSD is several years old and with my new connection, it may only take an hour or two to download these games. So I really don’t mind.
I definitely prefer this to lower-res textures or lower content in any way.

The performance was pretty good for me during the beta. It depends what your definition on good performance is though. 4K at 144FPS at max settings = good? Then I guess it won't be.

I am on a 165hz monitor. Game ran very smooth for me, uncapped hitting close to 200fps.

In bf5 with all low / off settings at 4k and no sli, i get about 80 fps.

In the 64 man cod beta, i got about 40 fps at 4k all low... while also looking significantly worse than bf5.

Yes, the performance was alot better in the small game modes, but i don't care about the small game modes, and apples to apples bf 64 players 4k low settings vs cod 64 players 4k low settings, bf gives roughly twice the fps...again while also looking significantly better.
