That 10 minute scene of J Lo... "damn" I'm not getting the negativity. Constance Wu was the gem of the film.

Well looks like The Joker is pants https://www.escapistmagazine.com/v2/2019/10/02/joker-review-escape-to-the-movies/ Then again the second I saw the first trailer suggesting it was going to be a realistic and gritty origin story, removing it from the over the top comic book style that is kinda The Jokers thing I knew it was going to be rubbish.
Goliath, Season 3 - now live steaming on Amazon Prime Video Few episodes in & have to say the quality of this series has not gone down at all. Nice to see Dennis Quaid back slowly pulling these better and better roles - He's good in this.
Dropping spoilers is a poor way to do a review. But he makes a lot of good points. In short, it's a great performance in a mediocre movie.
So i just saw The Lion King. I am very much impressed. unbelievable how they made this movie look. highly recommended.
If you've logged into your Netflix account today you've likely noticed... holding an 8.3/10 on IMDB. avging' a 95% on RT, Metascore of 73

I know! I was so happy to see his role in this movie he will be missed... goddamn he will be missed Anyone seen that new Watchmen TV show? Is it apropos to include TV in this thread? (I know I've posted trailers...)
We have a TV thread but I don't think it's stickied. As for Watchmen it seems to be getting good reviews. I saw one of our papers say it starts out frustrating but becomes a masterpiece. It got top score basically.
Midsommer. A sense of what the hell did I just watch mixed with I have seen this before. A plot that goes on way too long, and is almost fully predicable. Some illogical behavior in the end, from both "sides", but I won't spoil it.
Reviews out for The Irishman, sounds good. Says it's too long for the cinema but it's not playing here anyway so I have to wait for Netflix.
The French Connection (1971) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067116/ I watched a really well put together movie last night (subjectively) and there were times where I just had to put down my coffee cup because of the beautiful scenography. I don't know how to best describe it, but the good acting skills and warm colors always get to me - maybe I'm getting soft, but there's just something about classics.
