    Literally the very next sentence:
You can't be that dumb that you didn't read the next sentence so I can only assume you're intentionally trolling at this point - I hope vbetts feels the same way.

I fully believe that out of nowhere AMD is bringing 100 improvements, not fixes/changes. That's what companies do.
Then again, if you fix something - isn't that improving the thing you fixed? Hmmmm....

    Nah. Improvements.

I hope these "improvements" are not some kind of fixes that decrease CPU performance.

The fact that AMD and Intel are so close in performance makes me wonder if we are at the pinnacle of performance?

Per core performance very likely yes.

But your statement is somewhat incorrect - We are at the pinnacle of performance for Silicon.
It's very likely that once Carbon is the main material used it will result in massive jumps in performance like we haven't seen in more than 20 years... if only they would figure out how to mass produce carbon-based transistors in an efficient and cheap way...

It's not as if these things are perfect off the line. If there are things to improve or even fix, better now than say decades down the line.

I can't believe MSI has discontinued every X470, B450 and so on board and replaced them with MAX. My X470 Gaming Pro Carbon is still on AB. Crapster!
Next time I'll try another manufacturer, like Gigabyte or something.

I had an MSI X370 Gaming plus that blew out on me after a year of use. I ended up buying a cheapy ASRock B450M Pro 4 for $70 and my only regret is that it's got the weak VRM but it's running my 3700X just fine otherwise.

The max BIOS is easier to make as it's not restrained by the BIOS size (just look at the packed sizes, 9.08mb for your current board yet the x470 gaming pro max latest bios is 14mb)

Just because the x470 gaming pro max is on 1.0.0.3abba and yours is on ab doesn't mean yours won't update to abba or 1.0.0.4

Heck, your latest bios quite frankly isn't even much older then the bios for x470 gaming pro max, yours was released on September 3rd, vs Max on September 19th.

There are many, many motherboards that aren't on abba, and aren't MSI.
