Is there any way of changing the default cars that each character uses in singleplayer?

Not sure if this is the proper forum category to ask, apologies to the mods if it is.

A friend of mine is having a strange issue with GTA 5 for PC on Steam. After about 70 hours of play time her GTA 5 simply won't load anymore it keeps coming back with a white box error that reads."ERR_NO_LAUNCHER "Please run Grand Theft Auto V using PlayGTAV.exe"

We have done the verify integrity check which passed, uninstalled the game, cleared out the rockstar folder in the document folder, Reinstalled the Nvidia drivers, Disabled the antivirus. The only thing I did do was look for any hidden GTA 5 files that might be lurking about. She tried something that involved closing out the nvidia control panel and then launching it again after the game starts to load? GTA 5 loaded up fine, but then that stopped working. Not quite sure on where she got this idea as I'm at work and didn't have time to research it.

She hasn't done anything to the PC other than use the latest windows 10 update. Her PC was built on a budget but it works fine for 1080p. Runs a Ryzen AMD 2400G with a Nvidia 1060, 16 GB of ram. Can't remember the board but I can find out.

Again the game worked then all of sudden she stared getting that error. I've searched the web but I keep coming back with links about cracked versions of GTA 5. She has the full retail version from steam. My son also has GTA 5 on steam as well as a few others who play fine, I also have GTA 5 but I have the orginal Disk copy.
We just can't pinpoint the cause of why it all of a sudden started throwing this error. If anyone has experienced this with GTA 5 if you would chime in on what it might be, or maybe some other things I can try.

All other games work and play fine. Battlefield 5, the forest, Rainbow 6, etc all work as intended so I don't think its a hardware issue.

Anyways, if anyone knows of this error I'd appreciate some insight.

Just fired this up on my new rig, maxed it out, and its bloody flying  :D

Ive got the Grass Maxed, the Nvidia TXAA thing On, the Nvidia PCSS Shadows On, the lot. :p

Was surprised that after the Social Club installed, i didn't have to re-sign in, given im on a new rig, it just signed me straight in as normal, and loaded.

First, let me apologize for completely forgetting about the GTA 5 thread here. I knew there is a thread for just about every PC game we got and I gripe when people make a thread for something already available.

Secondly, thank you guys so much. Astyanax it was RTSS. I would have never had guess it would be something as simple as that, its unbelievable.

We cleared the cache in RTSS, we closed and reloaded the game twice and it worked each time both story mode and online.

This is why I'm a member of this legendary forum, problems get solved here.

    Thanks again!

Don't make the grass or particles out, these are cpu greedy settings and will see you drop to 40's fps wise during intense explosion or grass driving.

Completely maxed out, as in all of the advanced settings distance scaling options? In helping build a rig with a 9700k @5.0GHz and 1080Ti@~2050MHz +500Mem, he was still not able to max out this game and maintain 60FPS. Granted it was at 4k, but no AA. We had to take the advanced sliders to 5/10 and turn grass down to high, and he stays above 60FPS the vast majority of the time.

Don't get me wrong, I love hearing stories about people enjoying new hardware! I'm just wondering if a 3700x and 2070Super can truly max this game out. I'm waiting for the 7nm top end Navi or 3080Ti to expect a fully maxed 4k+AA@60FPS and above.

Well i didn't have all the FXAA etc.... as high as they could go, just stuck to 2x, and yeah, had the Distance Scaling right up, not sure how fast it was running, but it was fine, the G-Sync could have been helping as well i suppose.

It was definitely running faster than what my Vega 64 ran it though, and was only using Grass on High on there, as maxed it would choke, and even then, it still dropped to lows of around 47, but its known to run terrible on AMD cards, compared to Nvidias.

I noticed the MSAA in GTA V doesnt work anymore which is prob because of the new NVidia drivers.

Turns out you have to turn on MFAA in the Nvidia options. So when you set MSAAx4 ingame the option turns it into MFAAx4 which looks the same but offers higher FPS.

Looks great. :) i dont play much anymore since GTAO offers nothing really special for coop & story kinda guys like me.

MSAA working fine in GTAV, only msaa bug recently was an issue in the 430 drivers where smearing would occur due to a bug.

No you don't, and no you shouldn't, MFAA effectively disables nvidia's mutithreaded DX11 support and drops performance a fair bit.

your "understanding" of what it does is incorrect.
MFAA at 2x offers "visibly" 4x antialiasing at the performance of 2xAA.
MFAA at 4x offers 8x AA at the performance of 4x.

Wow, I had no idea.. Googled it a bit further and it does seem to be the case according to a few different sources. Good to know for the games still using MSAA..

This was initially reported as a 436.30 bug, however it looks like a good portion of the affected users are experiencing a bug in GTA itself as using some command tricks to force offline play resolves the issue.

So there may be 2 differnt issues at hand.

    1. 436.30 crashing to c0000005 on some machines
    2. GTA crashing on olderr drivers that were known to be good before the Rockstar launcher update.

Nvidia has contacted Rockstar about the situation, @ManuelG may have an update on the matter?

There is driver involvement somewhere, as some users have resolved crashes by installing studio drivers.

    Check 1page back,

after I got my account back it was loaded with cash. And I've read Rockstar may have done it too as a sorry note.. Idk they would see my money status for sure and do something about it..
