Western Digital Gold hard drives are back and get more reliable

I see the gold for the honey but where is the green for the money??? - no price given???

 

So WD Black isnt top of the line anymore.

 

Official pricing starts at 80$ for the 1TB model and goes up to 550$ for the 14TB HDD.

I didn't know they were gone. I bought a brand new 4TB gold on Amazon for $140 just about a year ago.

 

Black never was an Entretoise solution, Gold was always WD's Top Enterprise drive until WD decided to discontinue them for some reason and started losing business enough to bring them back.

 

Rated at "up to 2.5M hours MTBF." What's the reality? I can't find any stats.
