    Tried some stuff, I think its just the bios on the card, I can get pstate 7 stuck at 1700mhz, puting load on the card drops the clocks to 1570-1590. I think that this card dosent go over this,

    Also it has a cap on 70c and will trottle even if the hotspot is lower.

    Maybe if I see a cheap waterblock for it will give it a go, but for now I dont think it will break any record.

    UV Then, it will shave off some Celcius.
    IMO 1650MHz is very good for any game.

    Use this to edit some Temp stuff (e.g rise the limit to 75C)
    -> https://github.com/halsafar/Vega64SoftPowerTableEditor/releases

    == How to make it work (install GtkSharp 2.12)

    Copy, everthing under

    C:\Program Files\GtkSharp\2.12\bin*

    to the same folder with Vega64SoftPowerTableEditor.exe, then it worked, ugly but works, i am sure there is supposed the be more elegant way for this.

    ==
    Note:
    If You have good cooling on vega then You can adjust some Temp variables.
    First think then act, also monitor Temps all the time, short Game sessions 10-20min with HWinfo.

    hello there. my first post but i'm following topis for long time. have any of you issues with new drivers? i can't go above 18.12.2. every higher version is causing more and more BSOD. newest one is making PC completly not usable. did reaserch on subject, and found info, it's common issue with new 5800 cards but nothing about vega. have you any info on the problem?
    anyway 18.12.2 is rock solid for me with this clocks. probably could go higher with core but i'm keeping fans relatively low and tems are not going over 65c. i know HBM2 is low but i lost lotery and got really crap Hynix. maybe you got ideas about HBM2?

    btw my card: Sapphire Vega56 Nitro+ LE (3 pin version)

    OK :p
    Those insane clocks, i will try some 1800+ in time to break 30k FS score.
    It is possible tho, i know.

    Every drive is fine for my setup.
    19.8.1 Beta is installed and it's stable (like all Betas needs more V)

    Drivers Test:
    19. 5.2 vs 6.2 vs 7.1 vs 7.3 vs 8.1

    -> https://www.3dmark.com/compare/aot/315302/aot/315306/aot/315310/aot/318592/aot/319236

    and FS 1080p (without 5.2)
    -> https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/19849993/fs/19850307/fs/20102754/fs/20148995

    No Big difference in Gaming.
    Same clocks used: 1750MHz 1.118v 1145/1150 HBM 0.981v +1% POW | CPU at~4GHz RAM 3474MHz CL14 (w/Stable HBM Mem Tweak at CL18) | Tess x8

    Im sometimes conducting Driver Tests for Performance comparison between them.
    For Now the WHQL 19.7.1 & Beta 19.7.3 are the fastest.
    19.8.1 is close but no cigar :p, but YT + Playing Games is fixed for me in this one.
    No Flickering, stable & quite fast.

    So 19.8.1 is recommended by me for Vega.
    Upg. from 19.7.3, no clean install.

    heh core is going nicely but memory is total crap in my case so hard to call it win/win.
    about driver. changing V makes no difference. it's giving BSOD randomly for no reason. with/without OC. demanding or not games. the higher version i go, the more BSOD it gives. with 19.8.1 it's just BSOD festival, 10+ a day.

    MB Updated?
    AMD site has new chipset drivers.
    -> 1.8.19.0915 -> https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x370

    Note:
    Im 99% sure it's Flash related, try different BIOS.
    Or check everything, new drivers are very fast.

    Yes sometimes Drivers are weak (never crap for me) but this, no fault is definitely on Your side.

    i have newest mb bios, newest drivers for chipset. i haven't touch card bios yet it looks it's newest one (that's what i found anyway). as i said with 18.12.2 everything is rock solid. anything above is going worse the newer driver. more recent driver, more BSOD. have no clue what to do. i will stick with 18.12.2 and wait for fix in new drivers for 5800 cards as there are no reports about vega, yet it's same issue.

    well, update, no improvement whatso ever with the other psu 750w gold rated, using 2 8pin cables. I think this card is just crap silicon. but the hbm does clock really high, like i can push it all the way to 1180 on stock voltage.

    Maybe thats why it was so cheap on ebay. Still, its worth it either way. Card still clocks admirably.

    Well it came with the switch on silent bios, and whatever bios I put always has 260w of power, if I use it with -100mv and -5 powertarget it use 240w while having 1500mhz to almost 1600mhz, if I just go balls to the wall it will go to 370w and will clock to 1599 sometimes passing 1600, its just not worth it. So I can play any game at 1440p with good fps, been playing wolcen chill 48 to 75 card is at 1200mhz sometimes the fans go off, on the rx480 at 1440p was 50 fps max with fans at 100%.

    Im very happy with the v64 yes they are hot but they are very powerfull.

    My every day, stable, low power, good performance, cool @ quiet settings. For easy on the gpu games like ETS2 i set PT to -40% or whatever its needed to keep frames around 100.
    Performance gain with higher clocks and voltages is very little to justify the much higher levels of power consumption, heat and sound.
    Some thermal pads on the backplate, new thermalpads on vrms, one tiny high rpm fan blowing on the back of the gpu and 2 14cm good fans replacing the stock ones keeps temps under 60 at all times with ambient temp of 30-31 celsius

    you did the same i did, new paste, pads on the back and a small. it makes a diference.

    Will probably do the same and take the stock 3 fans and put 2 120mm or 140mm with a spliter to be controled by the gpu. Low noise and nice temps.

    good thing about superposition it has the game mode, so you can just put it and do the oc you want .

    Got fed up with the noise at 70%+ on the fans and changed the fans to the accelero extreme 4 that I had here, and the card is allot cooler at 60%, these ones only do 2100 rpm the stock ones do 3500. they must have a crap design

    Hi again! After following the thread now and again, I got intrigued about my hotspot temps as well. As it turns out, my waterblock mounting on the Nitro+ wasn't that perfect the first time out:

    [IMG]
    After a Superposition 1080p Extreme run, max temps were:
    GPU: 47 °C
    Mem: 44 °C
    GPU hotspot: 82 °C

    So I did a repaste and remount with somewhat more pressure as well. Results with identical settings:
    [IMG]
    Now the max temps were:
    GPU: 46 °C
    Mem: 43 °C
    GPU hotspot: 72 °C

    So roughly a 10 °C difference with the hotspot peak temps, I'd say quite a difference! However, a 26 °C delta between the edge and hotspot temps still seems quite steep. For reference, I also did a run with 1666MHz / 1055mV core (my usual go-to setup) and ended up with 43 °C edge / 41 °C mem / 66 °C hotspot, so a 23 °C delta.

    Can any of you guys with Vegas under water post your edge-hotspot deltas? After researching a bit online, I concluded that my results are now within reason, but it'd be nice to have some additional validation. :)

    Cheers, Daeteria
