You mean games that weren't even at the top of their class at release, let alone in the overall picture of the past 30 years? (I kid, I kid. I admire the list of classic shooters you've got there. Times were simpler back then!)
As someone else wrote, it's a matter of opinion - only half life from your list would make my top 20.
The Witcher 3 Project Cars 2 GTA V Skyrim Fallout 3 and 4 Flatout 2 Graveyard keeper Prey 2006 Doom 2016 Brothers in Arms Hells Highway Starcraft 2 Diaoblo 3
Yeah, this entire thread is just opinions. Seems most are missing it, so... I was being sarcastic. Look at my avatar, and the first game I listed...
You might as well post another pic of your Blood collection while you're at it. I prefer reading this sort of lists over making one myself...because it's all a 'hell I forgot I loved that one at the time, and that one, and that one...' experience that way.
Half-Life Half-Life 2 Half-Life 3.... Stalker, all of them Warcraft Age of Empires GTA Vice City Call of Duty 1 and 2 UFO Enemy Unknown Doom Giants: Citizen Kabuto Sacrifice No One Lives Forever .....

Trying as much as I can to focus on actual PC games per se (most of which were not immediately released on consoles; and if so, only later on) is very difficult since PC "exclusives" have been very few. Even a game like DOOM ended up on something like the SNES sooner rather than later. So the way I like to approach this is simply by selecting games that I simply happened to play a lot of from their PC version rather than on any other platforms. So with this said, in no particular order (side note: I include their expansions / DLCs if they had them and count those as part of the main game): - The Ultimate DOOM - DOOM II: Hell on Earth - Diablo II + Lord of Destruction - Duke Nukem 3D - Hexen - Quake - Half-Life - Half-Life 2 + Episodes - Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War + Expansions - Command & Conquer 2 (Tiberian Sun) + Firestorm - Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge - Team Fortress 2 - Natural Selection - Rome: Total War - Unreal Tournament 2004 - Age of Empires II - Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds + Clone Campaigns - Star Wars: Empire at War + Forces of Corruption - The Witcher 3 + Expansions - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim + Mods It's never easy to come up with "Top" lists and sometimes the list would change constantly if we were to answer it once every month. It's always in motion save for some of those couple of games we always consider our personal classics that are carved in stone and heart. At least a Top 20 is manageable. Anything lower is practically impossible and we always have to amputate it and make sacrifices. I hate Top 3s, 5s and 10s; never been able to do them properly. I'd need something like a Top 50 for the SNES and the PS1 to feel comfortable with my list.

Someone should take the data and spit out the most popular games. I'm seeing a lot of common titles. Winner so far from glancing looks like it's probably the Half Life series. HL is definitely on my top 30 list personally. Other than that there's a lot of other common games. If we look at the list you'll see that a lot of favorites are the old-school style single-player games that are solo experiences only and are usually designed around immersion. Not live service or MP. Just an observation. You can really see a trend on which type of games are liked most, at least for people here. Immersive sims and other 'thinking shooters' seem to be most popular. Personally the ' immersive sim ' genre is my favorite. 0451 forever!
hey guys btw - i thought about it for a while, and in my list i did the best to rethink about the best games iv ever played at the time of thier release. i think some people are mixing between the best games they ever played to the most memorable\nostalgic games. not saying it as a bad thing.. but Golden Axe, classic Mario, Dave are nostalgic for me.. strong memories. but they aren't the best pc games iv played.. same for the first GTA game and Death Ralley.. and many more. just a thought ;/
I know for myself I specifically thought about what games are still fun and which still hold true.. although some are really nostalgic based. I will say that Thief 1 and 2 are still THE BEST and unmatched even today, in my opinion But yes..l nostalgia is definitely a big factor for a lot of these lists I'm sure. For SWAT 3 and 4 CoOp could probably be beat out by some modern CoOP games.. but all those years of playing it religiously leaves better memories of CoOp that I just can't find elsewhere. These lists are always subjective and nostalgia is always going to pollute them a little bit
