Ok i did some tweaking and finally got my 1700 running at stock voltage at 3.7 all core. Temps max out around 58-59c when under load with stock cooler. Tried getting 3.8 but couldn't get stable. I dont know if my msi x370 gaming plus is the factor or just my processor dont like to overclock beyond 3.7. I tried upping the volts little bit but that didn't seem to help and just heated up the processor to levels i was uncomfortable with on air. I do notice that 1700 doesn't like 3200mhz ram running at 3200mhz. Right now i am at 2933.

have you tried to OC with your RAM at 2133? I find that my 1600X won't be stable with my RAM at anything higher than 2800. Like you my memory won't work right at all past 2933.

yeah i was hoping my ram would run at spec which is 3200. i heard to get higher you have to adjust volts little bit and the stock cooler is not enough to do that. Hoping to buy liquid cooler and then push is little further. I would like to hit 3.9-4.0 if possible as i have plenty of room with my ram.

More volt is one thing, but yeah .. some 1st Ryzen series CPUs can't go much higher when trying to push RAM beyond 2666Mhz from what seen.
Good luck on getting 3.9 - 4.0Ghz on CPU :)

Ok got the watercooling kit but realized that my motherboard didn't have the fan connecter as wrath one connects to back plate directly so i ordered one from amazon be here sat. Rookie mistake and i seem to have misplaced the one that came with motherboard. Arggg ohwell atleast the cooler is all set to go.

Kewl mine is not stable above 3.8 without higher volts and my water cooling kit struggles to keep it cool with higher volts. But it could have been my memory clocked to high for this chip also. Right now under load with 1.3v 3.8 runs in low 60's.

My Ryzen 1700 works at 3.8Ghz with 1.21V and also running ram at 3000Mhz (OCed from 2133) 16-18-18 with no issues on the stock cooler.
