Should I replace my GTX 1080 Ti with RTX 2080/Super?

Thanks everyone, I decided to stay with 1080 Ti for now. Btw NVidia is saying that RTX 2080 Super is 40% faster than GTX 1080 Ti, how is this possible if even RTX 2080 Ti is not 40% faster than GTX 1080 Ti hmn.. Ah they used RT Ultra + DLSS on RTX 2080 Super

 

I had a 1080 Ti and went to a 2080 RTX for the ray tracing. Not worth it. I mean, it's whatever, I got the card as a gift. But I'd be miffed if I paid for it. The price vs. the few extra frames aren't worth it. And the "ray tracing" is software based, not true/real and it's laughable at this point for the very small IQ gained and HUGE performance hit that comes with it. The SUPER can't be much better. Wait till next gen of cards, those will be more important anyway as they'll have to be able to handle the next gen of console ports.And hopefully Ray tracing is a better performer by then.

 

Your card is not a vanilla 1080 Ti , that is used for most benchmark testing.

Those prices are insane, just checked, in France the 2080 Ti card starts at 1000$, still extremely expensive.

 

Do you want to play Quake 2 RTX? If yes, then go for it. If no, then don't waste the money.

 

I just did and it set my GPU at 1642MHz /1756MHz Boost (manual OC 6024MHz for memory) and my GPU is boosting to 2000MHz while gaming, I'm happy.

 

Me to
