GTX 1070 TI Not supported by Windows : ( Need help fast.

I am a first time NVIDIA user

Just installed the 1070 TI to my Windows 10 X64 platform

Keep getting this error messag e upon installing latest drivers



Can someone help?

 

Have you tried re-downloading the driver package? The current one you have could be incomplete/corrupted from the download
Also, make sure you're downloading from something like this;

 

thats clearly a windows 7/8 driver you're trying to install on 10.

 

Indeed. Make sure its a right driver version for your os.

 

Check your window 10 version, it won't install on 2016 version and older so update it.

 

You get the same error if you try to install a DCH driver over a standard driver (including the one that Windows installs) or vice versa.

 

DCH driver, download the normal one instead

This has been a AMD system since I first built it some years back.

i7 4770k

16GB of ram

Sabertooth Z87 Mobo

Windows 10 64 Pro

Originally started with a R9 290x GFX card.

About a month ago my 290x died... so decided to swap it out for a RX 590... the card runs smooth, but after years of AMD product usage decided to go with NVIDIA.

Just received a refurbished Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 ti in the mail yesterday... seated it on my mother board, turned on system card would not post to display (black screen) reinserted my RX 590 into my system to uninstalled all previous AMD driver's.

Put back my Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 ti back into system... card now displays on my monitor but now every 15 min or so I get a black screen.

Don't know weather it's the card or Windows software instability issues?

Decided to use the driver install CD that came with my card...



Still having display crashes after 10... 15 mins or so.

Lastest DISPLAY UNINSTALL utillities for both AMD and NVIDIA

An lastest drivers for RX 590

Cause if I cant stabilize this 1070 ti card Im sending it back... paid $400 U.S. for this card through NewEgg

Hi Saberwolf, I had this exact same problem the other day when i got my 2070, after about 5 hours of troubleshooting i got it fixed. First make sure
1. You have DDU installed, and the latest nvidia driver file for the 1070 in your drive
2. Boot into safe mode (No Networking), Easily done by clicking windows icon on desktop and shift left clicking restart which will boot into recovery >troubleshoot>advanced options>startup settings>choose Safe mode no networking
3. Once in safe mode, take out your ethernet cable, make sure your in no way connected to the internet (for reasons ill explain at the end)
4. Go into the file explorer, In your main drive(C: for example) delete the Nvidia folder if it's their
5.Go into Program files (C:\ProgramFiles) and delete the Nvidia Corporation Files
6. Run DDU, use the restart option in DDU
7. Ittl boot into regular windows, still make sure their's no internet
8. Run the Driver Installer
Solved should work like normal after your done you can reconnect the internet

Reason its doing this best I could figure out, when you uninstall the drivers, windows was installing its own, which i read can sometimes push out the DCH drivers, so by disconnecting the internet Microsoft couldn't install them and was forced to just install the basic adapter, allowing you to install the right V

 

you don't, the message is quite different and includes "standard driver" is not compatible, and "use geforce experience" with a link to it.
