I had no idea you could oc individual cores. Did you check which core WoW loads before oc'ing? For me it always uses thread #8 for some reason.

So set IF at 1/2 of RAM
    e.g. for 3500MHz 1750, 3600Mhz 1800 etc.

that's interesting. If true that will put the 3k series right at or above the 9900K. I should finally have my 3700X today I hope my B450 board can change the FCLK.

It's BIOS Related, and yes it can hit advertised 4.6GHz on SC.

Now with Open source and ZEN2 Ready !

    PS.
Maby with this tiny tool You can achieve Magical Boost to 4.6GHz :)
Working with ZEN 1 and + also.

If you have a msi x570 board do not try 'game boost' setting in the bios! I tuned off core boost in order to get voltage down and selected game boost instead. Windows wouldn't boot and the bios was unstable. Luckily I had enough time to disable game boost and quit out before the mouse became unresponsive. Core boost is dumping too much voltage into the cpu, something isn't right when gta v is needing 1.43v but there's nothing to be done about it just yet. 6 core 7nm part shouldn't be needing so much voltage.

Sad is the day when the main game you play needs a bios update in order for your new shinny cpu. Reports of too much voltage in addition to that. New build sits collecting dust if and when bios gets released for the new board. Just plain sad. A freaking program that requires a bios update? What is really going on that is not being said? It took over a year for gen1 Ryzen bios to get ironed out for the most part. How long for Zen2? If this is an on going pattern, not upgrading to Zen3. Going to wait for Zen3+.

SC being stock cooling? 1.5v on stock cooling sounds very scary.

Question: The fabric clock, is it only able to be decoupled by using Ryzen Master or is it also in a bios setting? If it is also a bios setting, is it tied to just the cpu or is it also dependent on the chipset; being unique to x570 or x370 and x470 see some love too?

Been on vacation and tried to keep up with everything Zen2 related but there's too much to grasp. Anything I should think of? Got all the parts at home ready to be installed.

    3800X
    MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon
    16GB G. Skill Trident Z 3200MHz CL14
    Corsair H100i SE

The board is unflashed at the moment so I'll have to give it to my retailer for flashing. Can I expect "Plug n Play"? Equal temps to my current 6700K?

Anyway all the motherboards got some love with the FCLK being able to decouple from CPU in BIOS /Ryzen Master. Its is decoupled automatically also above lets say 1900+ Ram

Check out my screens a couple post up.I put a red box around the stuff.
Even if set manual in BIOS FCLK to 1800 anything over lets say 1900+Ram decouples FCLK and cuts speed in half but you need to check speed in CPU-Z.

So even in Ryzen Master it says it works at 1800FCLK and Ram above say 1900+ ,when you check CPU-Z it shows speed cut in half.I can double check if anyone wants.

make sure the retailer updates to the BETA BIOS

    https://www.msi.com/blog/the-latest-bios-for-amd-300-400-series-motherboard

it should contain the AGESA 1.0.0.3 which will save you hours of grief.

The voltage stuff has been disproven, the applications are just polling the cpu too often.

How did you get it? I wish they had a beta BIOS page like MSI. It's the one thing I miss from having my MSI X370 Gaming Plus.
