Glorious 1080p, no reasons to go higher on my 1080p native 24" monitor.

Maybe one day I'll get a higher native res monitor, maybe 4K, but by the time I get a 4K monitor we'll probably have NVIDIA's 3rd generation RTX cards (post RTX 30xx). I've always been a VERY late adopter of monitor / screen res tech, both for desktop monitors and Televisions too. Actually, my FIRST ever LCD Monitor is the one I am using right now and I bought it only in early 2015, so it's barely been 4 years since I've had that tech. I had been using a flat screen LG Flatron CRT monitor from 2004 all the way to that LCD monitor I got; so about 11 years of using that one CRT and nothing else.

Now I won't be using my current monitor for that long of course but I definitely know for sure that whenever I do get a new one I think 8K will actually be common on the market and 4K will be talked about like something from the past and will be very affordable, not to mention that the GPU hardware we'll have by then will be eating all sorts of games at 4K for breakfast at ridiculous frames on stupidly high refresh rate monitors anyway; so I'll be fine.

The only thing I do from time to time with some games is to give a try to DSR but it doesn't work well for all of them nor does it make that much of a difference anyway. I suppose it's a subjective matter. What I DO really like about 4K / UHD are movies on those crazy televisions though, the quality is really good. But then I see the prices and I think "Let's just wait a few more years". In the meantime I'm content checking out what it looks like when I go to my local BestBuy and just stand there watching part of a movie for 30 minutes without being told to leave; experience 4K on multiple brands in one place for free! :D

2560x1440p on my old 60hz monitors but bad performance in GhostRecon Wildlands and AC Origins made me buy an LG 2560x1080 144Hz.

Got used to it within 2 hours, now i can't go back to 60hz ever again. It's soooooooooooooo smooth i love it.

1080p still cause my monitor only does that.

HDTV can do 1080p,1440p, 4k but I dont like playing around with resolutions when I switch between them so it stay 1080p, 4k resolution is not feasible even with 1070ti even in Skyrim SE it cant keep 45fps let alone 60fps Last time I tried it.

Maybe by time I get new monitor there will be gpu's that can handle 4k just fine

Ultrawide 3440x1440 @ 120hz, love it but its hard to run- even with a 1080ti.

Works fine, looks great. As others have said, I see no reason to go change at the moment.

I only got 1080p monitor in 2016 so it still kinda feels new for me, I couldn't imagine gaming at 4K, that's just crazy.

1440p, all games ultra and majority above 100fps. Wont go 4k yet until I can achieve ultra with 100fps above.

I play on 1080p, and I use 1440p / 4k as downsampling in some games with poor AA. Works great for "older" titles.

1080p, i sit pretty close to the monitor so i switch from 1440p 27" back to 24" 1080p and it's good enough for me. I prefer to get 144fps then having better picture quality, and it still looks crisp on this 1080p screen.

Only thing i'm missing is the curve, it's so much better then flat if you're sitting close.
Now it looks like the curve is inverted to my eyes lol. :p

1080p but 144hz with Freesync (Freesync range is 40-144hz)

Going from 60hz to 144hz was amazing, everything feels smoother

I would rather game at 1440/60 then 1080/144. Its a shame gpus are so expensive this days. We need higher resolutions.

    Me never again 60hz.

I have dsr 2880x1620 and even at 70-144 it plays waaay better then at 60hz.

24" 1080p/144Hz monitor. If I had larger screen size I'd probably have to use higher resolution, I think even 27" would require 1440p. But as it is 1080p is completely fine and I prefer higher refresh rate anyway.

If I upgrade this, I hope it will be to some micro LED or similar display in a few years.

Dsr is not native and your 980ti is not capable of 1600p.

So? I have bigger FOV and less jaggies.. Doesn't matter if its native or not. It has the perfect picture balance .. ;)

And why wouldn't my gpu not be capable.. I'm not bothered if I can't keep 120fps+ .. it still played more fluid at above 70fps vsync then 60hz sync.

    Dmc5, re2 remake, dirt 2.0, destiny 2, doom, steep, mk11, forza4, etc.. np

There are some that 1620p is too much, but rare. Or I lower few settings not so relevant.. like shadows, reflections.
