How much of that "On Paper" Is Foundry and Power to Clock limitation form it?
AMD used to have more SPs and TMUs, but fewer ROPs. Each has different advantages. In this case nVidia has 50% more ROPs but has 44% fewer TMUs. This kind of wide difference alone enables each to be much stronger than other depending on game.

Site you linked shows Ultra results by default, that on 1080p does not put as much load on TMUs, but ROPs have to do all the AA. And even there are cases where RX-580 has 38% higher average performance. (DoW3, and that shows fps: Ultra/High/medium/Low as nVidia=47/82/103/149 AMD=65/100/121/167)
Do you see that interesting difference there? In each case difference is 18fps. Weird right? Hard to explain.
So I took values for BO4: nVidia=51/86/107/153 AMD=66/101/122/168... Weird right? Difference this time is fixed 15 fps regardless of details. Raises some more eyebrows.
So I took PC2 which is known to favor nVidia: nVidia=49/84/105/151 AMD=44/79/100/146. By this time I am sure you already understand the pattern, right? And implications... Site is fake.
(I do not blame you. I spend on math over 20 years and lived by it for long time too. Recognizing patterns even in numbers is question of taking a glimpse for me.)

One thing which you may want to use as argument (while it has downside) is memory bandwidth. nVidia had better memory management and therefore 1060 could do with 192bit interface, while AMD needed 256bit and that proven to be limiting factor for 580 and heavy burden to 590.
But part of it is nVidia's "visually lossless" compression. Where people always get to see difference once compared to AMD's worse solution. From Navi materials, AMD improved it a bit, or rather a bit more. Which is good.

But that does not support poor CPU=nVidia Wins. I can pick quite a few games. And since I can change clock on the fly by typing a number and one click to apply, I can tell you exactly how high fps can games achieve on mentioned RX-580 at given CPU clock and where bottleneck limits certain budget builds.
Be it 60Hz or 120/144Hz. (People on tight budget do not buy 240Hz screens.)

see the follow up post which compares the same details with a 1070, and then the 580 with a 9900k

Looks like it’s using a math equation to spit out results.

Yes it's a useless site on many levels. rx 580 and the cards before Navi required more from devs to use them properly which we can clearly see from 2560 shadercores vs 2560 shadercores now and of course ROPs aren't limited as badly as before.

And the AMD delusion continues, sad that you peons are so against Radeon doing better that you have to lie to yourselves that things are "Good Enough".

The only delusional person here is you. Stop projecting.

No one here is unaware of the DX11 overhead AMD suffers from. In fact Fox2322 has gone to length explaining it. Bu to say anyone running a $130 CPU is gonna drop $400+ for a GPU is delusional.

No mate, its clear you wouldn't have a damn clue how mainstream buyers spend money and pair components.

Tech communities are ruefully misleading on the reality of pc builds.

Peons are the ones that assure themselves things are "good enough" when everyone thats woke knows better.

Whats it like owning a GPU that doesn't even work as well as the RX polaris rebrands? - Now thats crazy.

I could pay for a 2080Ti SLI BUT instead i bought a Vega56 for around 350€ almost 1 year ago. Best bang for buck at the time.

I play every game I want at the frame rate I want so for me the "good enough" its just perfect gameplay experience.

You should be ashamed that you dont enjoy the overal better experience with the 2080Ti and instead you still own a 1080Ti with overal worse experience. lul

And lemmings are ones who follow blindly instructions. And repeat them for other lemmings.
Lemmings are then confused that there is other species than Lemmings that do not blindly repeat propaganda.

Funniest thing is that Lemmings will repeat their propaganda even to face of those who have real world experience that confirm Lemmings are wrong in their beliefs.
And they repeat same cycle over and over again. Occasion by occasion.

I would rather be multi-purpose Peon than one use Lemming.

If we can stop acting like children and get back to the topic, that would be nice folks. Just because staff comments on it doesn't mean you regress to children.
