The official Realtek R2.82 drivers for Windows 7 are outdated same as the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer. Are there any newer drivers available?

Do I need HDA or UAD drivers?

And why 8703 and not the more recent 8720?

UAD drivers are compatible only with Win10.

I have tested 8703 myself. But of course you can try newer versions.

more accurately, Realtek UAD drivers are 64bit only and are compatible with minimum Win10 X64 RS2 build 15063 (aka. v1703). not compatible with Win10 RTM/v1507/TH1 to RS1 v1607 versions either.

this guy is making unofficial generic Realtek UAD drivers that will work on nearly any onboard Realtek audio chipset - again at least Win10 x64 v1703 or greater is needed to use UAD drivers:

otherwise, use the legacy Realtek HDA drivers if running Win7, 8.x or old Win10 version like 1607 (or if running 32bit Windows) as HDA drivers come in both 32bit & 64bit editions.
