Hi, i am trying to install on my HP laptop newer driver from Lenovo (little bit newer then ~16.5.1), but AMD install manager (setup.exe) give me error "Detection driver error. Contact AMD for assistance." How i can resolve this, except manual install ?

My laptop have graphic problems (Like bsod, black screen, restart driver, random reboot) if i install any driver after AMD 16.5.1 (16.150.XXX last works). 16.5.1 its 16.150.2401.1002 version, last driver what i found for Lenovo 16.150.3101.0; and i want to try it.

You have bluescreen with errors, like atimdac or something like this? Sometimes your laptop simply restarts? Install latest 19.6.2, and disable ULPS. I had the same problem...

Yes, like this. Already tried new drivers with disabled ULPS, doesn't help me. Only drivers <=16.5.1 works fine.
UPD. Solved. For avoid error needed disable "Secure Boot" in bios.

    • -Download newest driver from HP
Before installing new driver, please ensure you have uninstalled the previous driver using the Add/Remove programs option in the Control Panel and also deleted the installation folder for the previous driver. This folder can be found at the following location:
    C:/AMD/support/................etc

    I would use: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Hm... Checked, I did not install earlier 19.6.2, don't remember exactly 19.5.1, but from 16.5.1+ to 19.4.3 all with issues for me. Today I am testing 19.6.2, strange, but so far so good, let's see what happens next.

for me disabling ULPS helped alot. But i had exactly the same problem, and I was angry af for some weeks because of it. In gaming i had no problem, but if I would quit from the game, and let my laptop idle for like 2 min, when i would come back, it would be already restarted...
