Joined: Jan 6, 2008 But was lurking and using Hilbert's download page for drivers and other stuff for about 3 years before I joined. Before this forum I was a regular on CUSTOMPC forums as I used to read the magazine back then but now CUSTOMPC is better known as BIT-TEC. I was mainly on there for the gaming section and the folding@home section where I was the first to modify the geforce drivers to be used for folding and actually got a mention in the magazine... I was so proud CUSTOMPC is where my name came from CPC_REDDAWN the CPC stands for CUSTOMPC. I was a regular on their COD2, CSS, and DOF game servers REDDAWN being one of my fav films. I now go by Fezzy on Steam though as I love me some old Tommy Cooper! You can tell from my avatar!
Joined May 2004, I has a geforce4 Ti4600 and came here for the nVidia omega drivers that could be downloaded from here.
July 28th 2014. The only reason I made an account is because I was too dumb to deactivate my motherboard's onboard gpu and use my dedicated graphics card. Thanks Pill Monster.
Pill Monster blew his own socks off lol. He meant well with an extreme edge that left him walking on ice barefoot. He disappeared when I was on a hiatus so missed it happening.
He loved AMD....I could only imagine his reaction/comments had he been here when ryzen was first released. Edit: I remember getting on a topic/best choice between a Phenom II 965 vs an i3-2120 an he kept telling me the 965 was faster when everyone else said get the sandy bridge then upgrade to 2500K! ...I went with the 2120 then>....Got a 2600k instead....thanks to a good member here on G3D!.....
Sometimes I wonder IF we could have the same level of knowledge sharing in real world. To some extent, I rather prefer forums over real life meetings and discussion. Why, because some old "gurus" will be able to stick to a topic on a forum thread, but not in real life. So, glad to grow old here on the forums. Not pointing fingers at anyone's, just had a meeting with a forum member a long time ago(another forum, sorry) and some things didn't went as planned. Different social approach to personal space and manners. I was young and foolish back then, nowadays I wouldn't invite over just anyone from a forum. Sorry guys, my social skills are more than average, I deal with hundreds of persons almost daily- but lately my distrust and paranoia are growing. Sorry for the rant y'all old farts... Old farts... wait, that includes me also!
Strange coincidence, I went Japanese and then German too, if you can call an r53 Mini German. An Alfa would probably be more reliable tbh, I seem to spend more time fixing the damned thing than driving it. I think I lost all my gtr2 videos when my old hard drive failed. Shame, we had some good times! I think I first joined this forum for drivers too, it seems to be a common theme.
Just over 16 years. Found the place back then when I had a GF 2 MX400, and been lurking posting ever since.
