So much of that costs savings on the AMD cpus….. out the window with higher mobo prices now.

    It's no longer about savings.

As long as they can clock higher than intel people wont care about the pricing... if they dont... then price will matter.

Which confirms the article just fine, since for entry-level boards thats a lot of money.

The point is there was never any need for cryptic corporate bullshitery, doubly so from the company that was mocking Ryzen prior to its launch.
You can always count on MSI and doublers regardless of board costs anyway, being cheap is an art form they have mastered. ;)

Pretty sure they are still selling x470, B450, etc.

ive been using an intel cpu as my main pc for quite a while actually, i do own a ryzen system but its my secondary rig, but im getting on board with ryzen 9 this time and a x570, yess it ll cost more, but you get pci-4.0 40 lanes, its well worth the money if you ask me, im gonna swap my 1080ti from my intel rig as well as my ssds, im already grinding it at work 3 12 hours in a row baby, cant wait for reviews and real benchmark

x470 are still an alternative, which supports overclock.
ryzen 3000 will run on b450 too.

You still get to choose, provided that x470 will perform on par in term of gaming.
If you want the latest ssd at 5gb/s and latest 4.0pciepxress video cards, you have to pay, as you have to pay if you wanted RTX at launch.

I'd be putting one in a B350 board, I just don't know which one.... Or I may decide to buy a Navi GPU instead. It's one or the other, budget won't stretch to both :(

Too early to say, but having the X470 alternative is a reassure we all budget builders need

^ True, I really can't see many of us needing the X570 chipset.

You are still fine with a B450/X470 board. PCIE 4.0 becomes a plus if you have SLI/Crossfire running which is niche at best.

Support for Ryzen 3000 on B350 boards will be limited and requires some work on the BIOS.

Might just get an X470 board then, since i will never do SLI.

There is already a Beta BIOS for mine and I'd look only be looking at a 3700X 8c/16t 65W version in it. Currently have a 1600X 6c/12t 95W so shouldn't pose a massive problem :)
