Extension Cable blocks headphones from being recognised

Hello,
I plugged my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi (something like that) and then I plugged the headphones and it seemed fine even though it took some time to find the drivers. After that I went and plugged in my microphone which caused my pc to freeze and making me restart , but after the restart the microphone worked aswell, so not so bad after all ... Well now I tried using my extension cable for my headphones because their cable is like 1m long and the card is not at the front so I have to use it ... and well it doesn't find anything and it acts as if the jack is empty... HELP

Edit: I should also mention that the ext. cable is 3m long if that makes any difference

 

Buy or borrow another extension cable and try with it.

Btw have you actually plugged headphones into extension cable?

 

Yes I have plugged it in and I've restarted many times and now it doesn't recognise anything and I probably bugged the drivers I will try again tomorrow I CBA right now

 

Stupid question, but... Does extension cable work with another source like phone, player?

 

It does work with a phone, don't know about a player imma have to test it tomorrow cause it's 1:50 AM for me rn so yeah

Because if it has a cut somewhere it can`t be recognised by the port.
