I literally just bought Mobius as I thought it would never be bettered.

Oh thank god! No 3D, No Wireless, Massive ugly cups, Heavy, dual cable. I am fine with the Mobius. This is just a pair of their audiophile ones with a mic on it.

Up until a point. We don't want them so heavy they're uncomfortable. You'd think they'd show the weight.

That name of theirs confused me. A headphone series called LCD.

They don’t exactly look comfortable, esp. the headband and are probably heavy (as its not listed). Headphones need to evolve, surely we can do better comfort wise in 2019.

All that being said though, we can’t have enough high end cans targeted towards gaming! So hope these do well as the sound they produce is probably incredible.

I've always been a fan of Philips headphones paired with the VModa Boompro for gaming. Recently got a pair of the Fidelio X2's and it's been an awesome gaming/music combo. I was using the Philips SHP 9500's before that with the BoomPro and it was a great setup too for around a hundred bucks. The Audeze set looks nice, but I can't ever see myself spending 900 on a gaming setup. Either way, still glad to see high quality sound gear coming out instead of the overpriced stuff from the gaming companies with sub-standard sound.

sorry, but for less (up to almost half the price of these) i can get sennheisers with much better range/response, much lower thd as well and can even have a DAC coming with it.

    Much better response than 10Hz – 50kHz?

my bad, misread it, thought it was 10-20K.
still, a thd of 0.1, when good brands do 0.01-0.05 (depending on price range), shows bigger (driver) doesnt mean better.
i mean my 120$ sennheisers have 0.1 already, and above 500$, you get hand-paired drivers as well.

Audeze is considered one of the top headphone brands.. the LCD4s are like one of the best headphones you can buy period. There is diminishing returns at the high-end and you're mostly paying for sound signatures but yeah

    Still using my AKG K601.

If that ever breaks down i will replace it with something similar from the line. Can wear them all day long without feeling a thing.

I really wouldn't use the response as a comparison between headphones. Unless it's narrow as hell.

Not to mention that one needs to see the actual graph of freq. response. And then in order to fully grasp it, one needs to be several levels above someone who compares headphones by quoting Freq. Response and THD.
And anyone who can do that, he can land a job with Phillips or Audeze in no time.

Yet that still won't tell him how the headphones sound to a fat guy with a pointy head, big ears and a narrow Eustachian tube. Because guess what - that freq. response was measured with mics placed on a particular artificial head.
And it says little about _your_ head/torso freq. response, and much less than in the case of speakers freq. response measurement.

    Audeze LCD vs $120 sennheiser...

Purely analogue, for listening to digital samples on a pc run through a cheap-as-chips DAC.

I've been perfectly happy with my HD650s for the past 15 years that I've had them.

    @Noisiv
never claimed the 120$ will sound better, just that if i want a 10 times lower thd, i can get that for much less.

so you saying that these (with 0.1 THD) will sound better than other brands (not just sennheiser) in the 800-1000$$ range (that usually have thd of 0.03 or even less)?

0.03 at what though? For example, the HD800's state 0.02 % (1 kHz 1 Vrms), which isn't a good usage scenario.
